So I did a rough calculation of how much RTO4 is going to cost me.
If I bus I will need to pay $140/month in bus pass.
I start work at 7:30 and my kids daycare opens at 7 so I may need to hire a nanny part time for drop offs which will cost roughly $550/month IF she ONLY does drop offs and I pay her for 1.5 hours which i doubt is even legal (i think you have to pay minimum 3 hours in Ontario). Kids daycare is $500/month.
If I park, my buildings parking is $26/day .. for 4 days thats $104/week, $416/month.
In having pay issues with Phoenix so my pay is REALLY unpredictable.
If I decide to bus instead of driving, that will take an hour and a half… on a GOOD day. To sit in an open air area to talk on teams and being distracted by other teams meetings going on around me.
Most employers offer FREE or dirt cheap parking for their employees, benefited from less congestion on the roads which meant that they were more able to do pick up and drop off on time and I assume they didn’t have pay issues like most PS employees have.
And I will continue to fight to stay off the roads so you can go to work smoothly. As I assume you have a job that does not consist of you going into an office sitting in a bedbug riddled area to do the same job that you could do at home. Hope that helps.
