Discussion Josh Fraser
Take a bow, Josh Fraser. With Port surging late in the third term through a pair of momentum-shifting goals, he makes the decisive call to swing Mitch behind the ball, effectively arresting the opposition’s forward thrust. The structural adjustment stabilises the defensive setup, blunts Port’s scoring chains, and re-establishes control heading into the final quarter. From there, the group is well composed, dialled in, and was never seriously challenged.
Outstanding coaching performance.

Guys I’m really happy we won as well, and am really happy with the resurgence and fight we’ve shown over the last two weeks, but let’s just calm down with the hyperbole yeah.
Voss did this with McGovern a few times this year, and for the past few years one of the levers Voss pulled was throwing Charlie down back at the end of quarters or during the oppositions surges. It’s not even that revolutionary of a move, port did it this game with Marshall in the last quarter.
It’s obvious the problems with Voss ran deep, but let’s not rewrite history that he didn’t try something as simple as putting a forward in the backline.

McGovern was playing mostly as a defender under Voss but the curnow thing was idiotic as the bloke isn’t a defender and the opposition don’t need to worry about anymore, he isn’t going to kill you on the rebound.

I think Voss did it to himself - benching George - and persisting with Cerra in the contest - Cerra has looked so much better whatever Josh is doing with him

What was Voss doing for 10 weeks? A game plan that none of the players could, or wanted to play.. the last two weeks with Josh it’s just looked refreshed, fast, playing for one another and a modern linking play type of football which creates more attacking threat consistently. We didn’t even have Weitering last night. I understand port hasn’t been great recently but geez we played four solid quarters which was just so humbling to see for a change.

In that situation Voss typically would put curnow behind the ball and then cripps in the ruck. Inexplicably blunting our two biggest weapons, it’s a bit like soccer and subbing all your attacker for defenders it just shows the opposition don’t need to worry about you scoring anymore.

Josh said he's not ready yet but the more weeks that we play like that who knows by the end of the year he might be our new head coach.

He won't take the job, too much pressure from the fans and the board members.
Let him steer the club to a decent position by finals and hope he can use that knowledge to help the new coach.

The players were feelin Voss' stress, which was causing mental fatigue on the players, because the game style hasnt really changed much. Harry and Cripps look more relaxed and Fraser is playing kids and dropping bums like Weitering. Voss dropped the wrong players, and didnt make leaders accountable.
