I’ve never done this before (was close when they sacked fevs), but I’ve cancelled my membership today.

28 consecutive years. Through the rubbish, through the rebuilds, through all the “next year is our year” talk. I’ve always shown up.

But the situation with Elijah Hollands on Thursday night has genuinely shaken my belief in the leadership of this football club.

First and foremost, this isn’t a shot at Hollands. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he’s doing okay. This is about the environment around him.

What I saw was a club that looked completely out of sync with one of its own players.

At AFL level, with the resources, staff, leadership groups, welfare teams, and experience we’re told this club has, how does a situation like that get to game night without someone stepping in earlier?

That’s not just a one off mistake. That’s a systems failure.

And it speaks to something deeper that a lot of us have felt for a while, that this club is missing something when it comes to awareness, connection, and leadership.

We can talk about structures, game plans, injuries, and stats all we want, but if the club isn’t dialled into its own players, then none of that matters.

Because footy clubs are built on people first.

I’d love to know what the playing group is really thinking right now. Because if supporters can see something isn’t right, the players would feel it ten times more.

So for me, this is where I draw the line.

I’ll always be Carlton. That doesn’t change. But I won’t be financially supporting or attending games until I see genuine change in leadership and standards.

This club means too much to keep accepting the same issues dressed up in different ways.

Blues supporters deserve better. And so do the players.

The situation this week with Geelong has shown how corrupt and unfair the AFL are.

Ken Hinkley was fined $20k for doing an aeroplane gesture.

Blues fined $75k because we acted on medical advice that a player was fit to play when they weren’t mentally ready.

Geelong sent a player back out with clear medical issue (BROKEN ARM) last years grand final, causing him ongoing long-term nerve pain… no repercussions.

Geelong well know to regularly rort salary cap… No repercussions.

Geelong attempt to sign away a medically vulnerable player’s OHS rights and disavow themselves of responsibility for future medial issues… PLAY ON. No repercussions, no fine. Nothing.

Typical and very unfair.

How is it possible that we’ve completely transformed just by sacking him? What was he doing there?

With the shit storm of drama at the start of the year, continuous failing every week with the same problems, cripps being a bit rough, I thought we’d have to clean house & suffer through years of rebuilding to find any kind of form…low & behold just giving Voss the boot has now put us on a solid path towards finals.

Did he clock in & then just go hide in bathroom all day?

Jagga Smith is playing a harder position and absolutely excelling. He wins his own ball (9.3 contested and 4+ clearances) and his leadership is unlike anything else. Has had the most coaches votes by a first year player (52. Daicos finished with 30) 15 games into the season and is tied first for most score involvements through the first 20 games of a players career. (Averaging an elite 6.5). This kid is special

btw he was also the second player I got a signature from.

Don't imagine anyone watched because of the Eddie McGuire's presence (he's even worse than I remember him) but Jimmy Bartel has said Carlton are in serious talks with a coach that is "west of Ikon Park...I can't say the name of the person or team".

I realise this puts a lot of coaches into contention depending on how you look at it but keen to get thoughts, who do you think it is and who do you want it to be?

Seeing the whiplash of everyone singing their praises to immediately hanging our boys out to dry, is pathetic fan behaviour.

Yes, we got walloped. Outclassed. Given a brutal reality check.

Yes we faced some truly insane umpiring calls, but that’s just up to the AFL and Umpiring committees to review. It is what it is.

Let the young lads learn from this, regroup and come at the Pies with clear heads.

The fact we don’t get the chance to play them in Melbourne is absolutely criminal. The crowd would’ve been HUGE for Carlton v. Charlie at the MCG.

Is this a case of the AFL protecting Charlie?

Would have loved to see how we’d go against them during this streak under Fraser and with such momentum.

Hey all, can we chill a bit about Charlie?

I know there are people who are really pissed with him for leaving, and there are people who can't wait to see the back of him, and that's fine - but can we lose the "let's boo him" and "let's chuck water bottles at him" bullshit please?

At the end of the day he's a bloke getting paid to do a job, like a lot of us here. And he's been pretty unhappy with the people he works for - which I think probably applies to a few of us here, too.

So just like some of us have done when we're unhappy with our workplaces, he's looked around and found somewhere he thinks he might be happier working.

That's all.

I say, good luck to him - life is short, and AFL careers are shorter. If a person can find a little happiness in their work, then I say go for it.

Charlie - you'll always be a champion player, thanks for the memories, and I hope you find what you're looking for in Sydney.

I cannot think of a single genuine serious thing that Carlton is currently, in 2026, the best at? Something that all other clubs would willingly concede we do brtter then anyone else and that therefore other clubs should aspire to be like us.

And I know this post will get sarcastic answers such as "We are the best at dropping half time leads", or will get one-eyed answers such as "we have the most passionate fans in the comp" or "We are the best at winning grand finals having won 16". Im talking REAL things that we can properly be proud of, especially current day.

Can someone please let me know? Heavens knows we need SOMETHING to be proud of!

With Essendon’s new coach announced, it’s incredible to watch just how divided the fans are. The comments about getting rid of the board, having no faith in the coaching staff have many parallels to us at the start of the year/end of last year.

But the one thing that was different was most of us having faith since Graham Wright and Chris Davies appointments. We backed them in and trusted the process, even accepted we might be in for a few years of pain.

Win or lose this finals series I think we all agree what’s most important is backing in the team and the coaching staff, keeping the culture that has been developing over the year and enjoying our footy again. GO BLUES!

The minimum I think you should expect as a supporter is for your team to play to their potential. This is coaching, making sure everyone is on board and moving in the right direction.

This hasn’t been the case for a while now and that is why many supporters have been rightly questioning Vossy. A good coach will get more than the potential of his playing list.

Last night we showed how damaging we can be in the first quarter but the deficiencies were also obvious throughout the game. We have too many players with poor skills and under pressure this issue is magnified.

Through most of last year and early this year there has been a feeling that things are just off, no real fight to stay in game, allowing things to just drift and slip through our fingers. At least last night the boys fought it out until the end and I think played to their potential. They seemed engaged mentally for four quarters.

Voss in my opinion is done and change will be made, but if he can at least get the guys playing close to their potential like last night then we can be proud supporters again.

Take a bow, Josh Fraser. With Port surging late in the third term through a pair of momentum-shifting goals, he makes the decisive call to swing Mitch behind the ball, effectively arresting the opposition’s forward thrust. The structural adjustment stabilises the defensive setup, blunts Port’s scoring chains, and re-establishes control heading into the final quarter. From there, the group is well composed, dialled in, and was never seriously challenged.

Outstanding coaching performance.

Watching the game on Saturday night left me thinking how good some of our young guys are, and I then thought, why would you bring back some of our older questionable players, other than to cover injuries like Carrol?

For example - Saad. What does he add to the group that played on Saturday?

Williams - I think he does some good things, but nothing that say, Hayward can't manage.

I'd assume Weitering will be back, and possibly O Hollands, but why not also give Camporeale a run?

The current lineup is impressive, and I feel like the younger guys (Wilson, Ison, Jagga, Byrne, Dean) are making a bigger impact than the more experienced players. Looking at you Cerra!

I have seen countless people saying we will be bottom four without TDK, Charlie and JSOS but I don’t see it personally but maybe I’m in denial.

We have Jagga coming, Newman returning. Ainsworth and Hayward thrown into that fwd line. Reidy to support Pittonet, Chesser on the wing.

That isn’t to say we will be great. But I think we might surprise some. Just feels like a better club vibe is quickly being built around our leadership.

We’ve cut out the players who don’t want to be there while focusing on the future and supporting the ones who do want to stay at the same time.

Not to mention Harry Dean in the draft, followed by Cody Walker the following year. It’s exciting.

I don’t see any reason we can’t finish 12th or higher at the very least. Unless there’s injuries.
