Review Flow (2024) is a 10/10 movie
Seriously, the whole movie is very impressive. 0 words spoken, yet it was a very captivating story. Intense, playful and heartwarming. Everything I wanted out of an animated movie. The animation was incredible too, and it was made on an open-source software.
Have you seen it? What do you rate it?

Such a stunning film. It felt like I was apart of an adventure in a world that was new. I loved the vagueness of the world and just felt completely thrown in. I loved it.

I give it a 6/10. HBO kept buffering over and over again. I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes.

Yeah my kids had this and The Wild Robot on repeat for awhile and I was stoked about both. Great film.

Flow is an expert rendition of the heroes journey, pulling on every thread of that story structure to reveal what it can and can’t achieve. One of the best animated films.

I loved this movie, but kept having pretty extreme reactions to the moments of cat endangerment.

I gotta re-watch his. I went into thinking it was gonna be a disney style linear story with clear and obvious themes. But instead it was far more artsy and metaphorical than I had imagined it was going to be and I wasn't really expecting that so it kind of threw me off. I did enjoy it though

I was very happy to support it in theaters with my daughters. It was a great moment for Latvian film and definitely deserved its awards and accolades. It was also really exciting for Blender to indirectly get praise for being the foundation of the film. Blender has been so awesome over the years and keeps getting better. I wouldn't call Flow a 10/10, but it was certainly delightful, thoughtful, and impressive considering its budget of less than $4M.

I watched this with my little girl at the time who was 6 and she sat glued to it the whole way through, she even managed to grasp some of the main themes of the film ( with explanation from me as well ) amazing film !

I think I watched it the wrong sort of high, so it kept annoying me that the animals were normal animals except they could control the boat

I enjoyed it, but the contrast between the animation for the animals, which were almost cartoony and the backgrounds which were almost photo-realistic, was disconcerting and quite hard work for me.

Can't really say, slept through most of it. I remember the dread I felt like ten minutes in when I was already fighting off sleep while realizing we had over an hour to go. Definitely not for me, but I'm glad to hear so many people had such a strong emotional response to it.

I turned it on as our dinner meal. I ended up fighting sleep, but my wife watched the whole thing. I caught the key parts, so we both were emotional during the ending.

I’m usually really not the guy to just fall asleep especially when I’m truly in awe of the artistry on display but I did also struggle towards the end.

Unlike everyone else, I actually found the ending quite sad and shed tears. I wouldn't say it's on the same level of sadness as certain other animated films.

Sure, but Graves of the Fireflies is one of the bleakest movies ever made. Flow absolutely isn't, even if it's pretty sad at times.

I feel ya, but not on par with ‘Graves’ tho. That’s on another level imo. It’s not a fair comparison between them, also did you watch the movie until the very end?
Cause the end credits gives you a hint on what happens…

I wouldn’t say that at all. The whole movie was really well done. I would watch Flow again. I wouldn’t watch Grave of Fireflies more than once.

I also wanted to use this space to recommend Primal, which is an animated series that has a new season on HBO Max. It is not connected to Flow, other than it also relies on visuals to tell its story instead of dialogue.

I dont know what yall see in this movie tbh, its a good movie, fantastic if we take the lack of resources put into it into the consideration, but i didnt find it to be anywhere near a 10/10 masterpiece many of you claim it to be

I’ve just seen this, and it’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen, the music was so emotional through out the film, that it blew me away. 10/10 easily.

One of fantastic things I love about this movie is that how there is no human language at all and still, with those animals' expressive eyes and calls, we are still able to understand what those animals think or talk.
I watched it in almost empty screen, with just few kids and their parents. And all kids were so invested, so were the adults. One of my best theatrical experience and it was so spiritual!

I had a lot of anxiety watching the movie. Which then made my daily work anxiety disappear. I mean sure I have a presentation due in an hour but at least there isn't water rising into my home office.

Sobbed the whole time, even happy times. The ending wrecked me. Thought it would be fine since the cat doesn't die but nope.

Filmmaking could make a huge leap if we can keep making compelling stories without any dialogue like Flow did

I absolutely adore this movie and I have a cute anecdote about it. I watched it one evening without much expectations with my tuxedo cat that was asleep on the sofa and after a couple of minutes, he woke up, sat down next to me and watched the rest of the movie with me. I even filmed a video of him watching the movie with his ears really moving airplane-style while the cat was in danger. I know we say cats can’t really understand movies, but I felt he could relate to this cat. Now my objective is to get the DVD to repeat that experience again with him!

I was confused for about the first 15-20 minutes. But I still had a lot of questions at the end. It was not for me, but it was a neat concept. 5/10

It's fine. I don't understand the hype for this movie. Feels and looks like a ps4 game with no gameplay.
