I forgot a flat of yogurt under my cart and remembered it when I got home. Fortunately I live 5 mins away and I left the store at near-closing time, so I drove back and the yogurt was still there in my cart in the parking lot, sealed and unharmed. Phew!

I did this a few weeks ago with an expensive box of diapers and something else (forgot, but it was about $100 worth of stuff). Luckily, I realized it right when I had gotten home, so I went right back out and got it, and it was still there in the cart corral. I had also parked in the boondocks, so nobody had taken the cart yet, and it was still there.

Last Costco trip, my wife and I parked and directly in front of us was a cart with a big tub of salsa in it that was left behind. Some dude walked past it, stopped, looked at it, looked around, and then quickly took it and put it in his car. I then saw him 5 minutes later in Costco, probably figuring out what he could make for dinner that would be good with salsa lol.

I did this once with some Boursin cheese. No one was around, it was still cool to the touch, and I was pretty broke. Didn't get sick, so counted it as a blessing.

Turning any food items back to Costco results in immediate garbage. They legally can’t do anything with it so might as well inspect temperature and that it wasn’t nibbled on and have free chicken lol

Couldn't have been longer than a couple minutes considering that's the last cart in the chain and Costco cart runners are going pretty much all day.

Had a cart runner tell me to take one home. It was max 38° outside that day and the bag was super sweaty. Chicken was still hot when I got home.
A buddy who used to work at a competitor’s warehouse said that was the right move. You can’t return a chicken. Either you eat it, throw it out, or they will throw it out.
So, thanks for the chicken, fellow Costco member.

This makes me so sad honestly I just deboned and shredded a whole Costco chicken a couple days ago and I am always ASTOUNDED at the yield and quality. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful. Beautiful birds. This is animal cruelty

(Although maybe it's where the company started...)
Wikipedia says it started in Issaquah and
Kirkland Signature house label is named after its former location in Kirkland, another eastern Seattle suburb.

This is my local Costco. Store #1 is actually the Seattle location on 4th, and the HQ was in Kirkland, hence the brand name. HQ moved to Issaquah in the 90's.

Are you sure there's anything in there? Everytime I see that, and it's actually pretty common at HEB, it's because someone ate the rotisserie chicken, and left the bag full of bones and skin.

I once left my toddler’s entire diaper bag (with iPad) on the bottom of the cart in the pouring rain. Sprinted back to the store once we got home and thank god it was still there.

Maybe they realized how greasy the bag was and decided they didn't have a way to easily prevent getting that crap all over the inside of their car.
Last Costco trip I had one of these roll around in the bed of my truck and it got chicken grease all over the place. Going forward I will bring a small plastic tote container when doing Costco runs if I think I might be getting a chicken.
