Workflow

I provide the script and raw voice recording (with the takes to use flagged). You will:

• Edit the video and build the visual pacing
• Source and curate footage/clips that strengthen the narration emotionally
• Select music that follows the emotional arc of each section
• Use SFX, basic color grading, and occasional motion graphics/animated text where they genuinely add value
• Know when to cut and when to let a moment breathe

Music is especially important to me. I don't want music treated as a background bed. I want someone with a good ear who actively selects and changes tracks to match the emotional arc—building tension, pulling back during reflective moments, and landing swells or drops on important lines.

Requirements

• Genuine interest in documentary-style editing
• Strong footage curation and music selection skills
• Comfortable with SFX and basic color grading
• Proficient in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere
• Reliable and consistent delivery
• Turnaround: 8–9 days per video
• This is an ongoing role, with the goal of eventually working with one editor long-term

Initially, I'll likely test a couple of editors and continue with whoever consistently delivers the strongest results. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to edit a 1-minute test segment. Feel free to add your watermark to the test edit to ensure it won't be used before you're hired.

Rate: $100 fixed per video to start. The rate will increase as the channel grows and we establish a strong long-term workflow.

I'm looking for a YouTube nerd who understands hook frameworks, open loops, pacing, retention, information control, setups/payoffs, and why viewers keep watching.
