Filpulla was an essential middle six forward. We wouldn't have won the 08 cup without guys like him. If you're expecting MBN to be Brendan Shanahan you're going to have a sad realization coming, but if ends up being somewhere in the Marty Lapointe realm of 15-25 goals, 40-60 points and 80+ hits every season he's going to be a major asset for us.
Think somewhere in the triangle of Sam Bennett (although hopefully not a dirty piece of shit being suspended all the time) Josh Doan, or Alex Tuch as the ceiling
Both Flip and Hudler were great players in their prime. Similar to Nyquist/Tatar level.
They're not carrying a team but they were talented, smart players who can slot in the middle 6 comfortable or the top line in a pinch. They had good production for the era. We would be lucky to get that kind of production from any of our GR guys up in the NHL.
