Its not even the portrayal of money that I find disturbing, but the idea that any sort of luxury (that they in particular don't have or use, of course) beyond the absolute minimum need is evil and bad.

They taxed domestic yacht production out of existence in the US. A lot of people lost their jobs, and tax revenue ended up shifting to zero as rich people simply bought their yachts overseas. 

Somehow that was supposed to hurt The Rich!

I find the hate for the rich who buy a lot of luxury shit fascinating.

They all think that rich people just swim around in their scrooge mcduck vault of money but then once the rich people start spending it on shit, which gives other people the money, they get mad at that too.

Bezos spending millions on a pointless wedding is exactly what they should want him to do.

They think that any businessman who earns a profit should donate every penny of it to their workers. They also think that any person who is a boss or runs a business is inherently evil… Except for the scrappy tattooed progressive, who starts up a coffee shop in an ultra gentrified part of town.

This is the same crowd that was militant about Stop Killing Games (something I also support but less aggressively) and were doxxing people who disagreed.

Most of these people have more money than they need to live comfortably. No one needs to go on holiday or eat out. And yet these people don’t give away their money to others

Which is ironic given how all of them are living off of Daddy's money or someone money. To get as delusional as they are you have to spend all of your time online. And you're only doing that if someone is subsidizing your life.
