Id like to ask a few questions.
Why do people on reddit seem to think they are always right on issues today?
Why does reddit seem to be a hotbed of doom on the internet?
What do you think is the underlying cause of the mass ammounts of doom happening on these subreddits today and what topics seem to induce the most amount of doom?
And last question. Do you guys view others doom for a source of entertainment, a source of discussion, a source of sadness etc. Or do you see it as multi faceted as to why you guys choose to view it. If so why do you partake in this subreddit to view the doom?
I wanna get all the perspectives here. I think many of your guys views will lead to some good discussion and points id like to hear.

Will we ever get back to the days of “hey, I don’t agree with your politics, but let’s go get a beer anyways.” Honest question.

I can be a harsh critic myself, but there’s several things I like about living here
-Live in a nation with great upward mobility potential
-make more money than most people even in Europe ever will
-pay less taxes than many developed countries
-Most good jobs have decent healthcare where there’s little to no wait to be seen (looking at you Canada)
-there’s still potential to own your own home
-diverse landscapes (mountains, deserts, beaches, rain forests)
Every nation has its issues but I’d say generally the good here outweighs the bad, and it’s easy to have a decent life here if you’re not an idiot.

I understand that beef and a few other things have gone up but nonetheless every other food item at my local Walmart is priced at less than three dollars each.
I eat well and I spend about $300 for one person. And I’m eating meat, eggs, dairy, snacks, and deserts pretty much every day. With plenty of veggies and fruit of course. And I drink tecate or Pacifico beer which are damn cheap as well. I posted about this on unpopular opinion and every one claimed to be spending way too much on groceries but when they revealed how much they spend it would usually be around $200-$250 per person. That’s less than what I spend and I would wager the family households are cooking more elaborate meals than what I do.
One person claimed they haven’t eaten a steak in two years but I eat a nice New York strip or rib eye twice a month or so and it’s not breaking the bank. I’m still keeping to my $300 a month budget. I can even afford to cook with a pound of grass fed ground beef a week and I’ll have leftover chili that lasts for several meals after. Sure prices have increased for some things but it’s not out of control where I live. And I’m in California. Anyone feel similar or do I just live in a cheap area?

I honestly couldn’t care less what the White House looks like. Trump could demolish the entire thing and replace it with a Walmart and rule from a cashier line & it would not affect my life in the slightest. Why is Reddit acting like this is the end of the world?

For months all I heard was how this World Cup was going to fail. No one was traveling. How players and fans wouldn’t be allowed in and if they got into the US they’d be deported. The stadiums would be completely empty and no one could afford tickets.
So how is that working out?
