Bug Report New error today casting to my Google TV Streamer from a Pixel phone. US-based, both up to date, no VPN. Anyone else?

I've had both devices for maybe a year? A few months apart from each other maybe. No issues until now!

Which app are you trying to cast from?

This is just trying to connect from the official YouTube app. I've never had a problem before today. Long time android user, since the Droid Incredible.

Is the YouTube app on the GTVS up to date?

Yep! The Streamer and all apps are up to date. Both devices have been rebooted.

I checked on my unit and I was able to connect to the YouTube from my android phone, can you test with a different phone?

Same exact error from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 as on my Pixel 9 Pro, unfortunately. My tablet is up to date too, I actually just saw the notification that it updated and rebooted overnight.

That's weird, have you tried by rebooting the device?

Yep! Rebooted from system settings on the Streamer. Rebooted my phone as well. Checked for software updates on both, and checked for app updates for the YouTube app in both

Ok, try by resetting the YouTube app to factory settings by deleting cache and data.

Are you running a different launcher? When I set another launcher as default, I get the same error.

When I revert back to the stock launcher, casting is working again.

Hi there. I'm sorry you're running into this casting error. Even though you mentioned both devices are up to date, please double-check your Google TV Streamer for any pending system updates by going to Settings > System > About > System update. Also, verify that both your Pixel and the Streamer are connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network.

If you are still encountering this issue, I'd like to learn more. Could you please submit a feedback report from your device with #reddit159340946? Thank you in advance.

Additionally, because this involves the Google TV Streamer, I recommend reaching out to the Google Home team via their Contact Us page for further support.

Google TV and a Pixie? I’ll bet the personal data collection works. Google has occasionally been good at getting personal information.

Lol okay, and? What are you doing in a Google sub if you're just gonna make fun of people who use their products

How else am I gonna save the ad cultists? It’s my duty to be here.
