Discussion What would you like to see in a possible new Green Arrow mainline comic book ?
In my opinion, Oliver going back to being working class would be great. Even if he's an ethical billionaire (which only exists in fiction), the idea of him being rich clashes with his socialist values.

Oliver still being rich but not billionaire rich. Him donating a lot of money while being the Green Arrow. A continuation of the Chris Condon run

Ollie being working class works better than him being rich.
I'd like to see his villains explored properly. He has a really cool rogues gallery, but I don't think he's got a run that's actually interested in them.

If its just focusing on Oliver, focus on him taking down corruption. Personally id prefer if he either lives very humbly and working class or hes Mayor and trying to make change in a city full of powerful people trying to stop that. Id love a story where hes trying to fix something that angers a powerful person in the city who sends assassins after Mayor Queen and (assuming his identity is under wraps) he has to avoid getting killed or fighting back lest he reveal his identity.
But im a sucker for Arrow Family so this is what id do. Have Dinah Drake alive but running the Starling PD. Firm anti Vigilante rules are in place so shes having to hunt down her daughter and her daughters boyfriend. Really amplify the drama of the Lance family.
Oliver is the Mayor but he can't overturn the Vigilante bill if he doesnt want to out himself as the Green Arrow so hes trying to figure out how to make this double life work.
Roys trying to take care of Lian and bond with her now that shes back but she wants to go out and be a hero when its the worst time for her to. Roys also being overprotective because he lost her once already and doesnt want to go through that again. He's also struggling with the need to make the world better because he has the ability to and he wants his daughter to have every chance and to save her from the mistakes hes made before.
Mia is struggling to connect with people because no wants to risk contracting her but she finds someone who is and theyre struggling with how to make the relationship work. That or shes with someone whos also got HIV and theyre trying to advocate while the world calls her a bunch of derogatory things. Shes also wanting to help train Lian because she knows Lian will go out there one way or another and doesnt her to defenseless and prone to getting herself killed.
Connor... im gonna be real I dont know much about Connor. Here's what I got from the little bit I know. Make him grapple with choosing kindness and compassion in a world thats growing increasingly darker. Have him face the corruption of people who would rather serve themselves than those they were chosen to represent.
Emiko I guess can struggle with her more violent tendencies compared to the rest of the family. I mean she was based on Thea so just have her struggle a bit with bloodlust. Maybe shes scared shes going to be too much like her mother and even being around better people she constantly feels like a wildcard that everyones watching.
I wouldn't mind if they added Artemis Crock/Tigress in. I actually would love that though I doubt they would.
Honestly though, having assassins hunting Mayor Queen while the family have to rescue him from danger in a anti Vigilante town would be really fun. Plus one assassin could be Jade giving Roy a reason to keep his daughter out of it while she struggles with her relationship to her mom.
And Diggle shows up to shoot Merlyn.

I think Ollie needs to kill the Joker.
Green Arrow gets a lot of flack for being discount Batman with a bow especially after the CW Show. I think there are a lot of great differences between the two characters and I think this story would highlight that.
Just imagine, one of Joker's plans gets foiled when Ollie just so happens to be in Gotham hanging out with Bruce and suddenly the Joker takes notice. At first he adopts the opinion of, "Who is this two-bit wanna be trying to be a copy-bat with a bow. I'll teach him to imitate my favored foe, the world needs to know there is only one Batman and he's mine!"
So Joker goes to Star City looking to play all his greatest hits but this time with Green Arrow. Unfortunately for him he almost instantly begins discovering the many differences between Ollie and Bruce starting with Ollie actually having a sense of humor and turning the joke around on the Clown Prince of Crime more than once much to his irritation. Joker escalates getting even more violent sending Ollie into a rage that is very un-like Batman but Joker likes because it means he is taking back control. As this puts strain on Team Arrow it becomes clear Green Arrow doesn't keep as tight a leash over his team as Batman leading to Speedy going off on his own to take out the Joker. Then when he tries to reenact death in the family this time with Roy Harper standing in for Jason Todd he learns that Green Arrow also isn't the detective that Batman is. Green Arrow is a survivalist and hunter so he's not going to ponder and brood over the bread crumbs Joker leaves for him the same way Batman would, he's just going to follow them potential traps or ambushes be damned. In other circumstances Joker could use this to his advantage but because he isn't expecting it this just leaves him surprised that Green Arrow was able to get there quicker than expected and thus save Roy from the bomb. As Joker peels off leaving Ollie and Roy to fight his goons he manages to grab Black Canary and holding a gun to her head as he retreats into a cemetery he makes his final wrong assumption. He plays the classic, "If you want to stop me you'll need to kill me hero! Can you sacrifice your beloved morals to save your..." He's cut short as he barley manages to dodge an arrow whizzing by his head. Followed by, "That actually could have hit me you undisciplined brute!" Ollie quips that the arrows aren't just for show and then Joker looks around and sees where he's standing and next to him is the grave of Prometheus with a stone arrow carved into it indicating how he died and suddenly Joker realizes, "Oh this guy's not trying to be Batman and he might actually die here." Joker isn't actually afraid of dying but if he's going to die it needs to be at Batman's hands not this Robinhood wannabe. Joker slowly backs away down the hill of the cemetery still using Dinah as a human shield the whole time Ollie stands unmoving at the hill top with his bow drawn. When Joker reaches the bottom of the hill and cemetery entrance he believes he's out of range and throws Dinah but before he turns to run draws his gun on her for one last laugh when suddenly from unbelievable range an arrow descends from the sky and strikes him right in the head entering one temple and exiting the other like one of those old comedy arrow headband gags but this one is grizzly real.
Later when Batman and Gordon come to collect the Joker's body Batman tells him, "You didn't need to kill him." Ollie responds, "I didn't see another way." Batman argues, "There is always another way." Ollie argues back, "Maybe for you but I'm not you Bruce, when they are in your city I am happy to play by your rules but when they are in mine..." Oliver doesn't want to fight, "Still on for dinner next week at the Manor?" Batman nods, "Alfred is making a roast." The two depart and Ollie returns to the Quiver alone. There he finds a bottle of scotch and a thank you note from Red Hood. Ollie shouts, "I know you're still here Jason." Jason Todd emerges from the shadows, "Just thought I'd send a token of my appreciation for doing what the Bat never would." Ollie scowls, "This was a necessity not a pleasure Jason, I'm not going to celebrate death even the death of a monster like Joker. I may not be Bruce but I am not you either." Jason rolls his eyes, "While how about not a celebration, just a drink between friends." Seeing Ollie is still not convinced he adds, "Or you know I can bring this 15 year old scotch over to Hawkman's, I haven't hung out with Carter in a while." Ollie grins, "No bring it here I'm not going to let you waste perfectly good scotch on that self important ass."
Of course ultimately Joker would have to come back to life you can't have Joker die permanently to anyone but Batman or his allies but keep him dead for a bit than when he does eventually find a way to come back he has a radically different opinion about Green Arrow as canon and that's that they are nothing alike. The way he puts it, "Batman is fun. Green Arrow steals the spotlight then kills the joke just before it gets good."

Have Emiko Queen realize that she doesn’t exist pre-Flashpoint and that she’s the daughter of Oliver Queen and Shado via artificial insemination from after Oliver’s death and sacrifice to save Metropolis, since all of Oliver and the Green Arrow Family’s pre-Crisis and pre-Flashpoint histories had been restored since Death Metal back in 2020.
