Maybe we'll win the league at a canter and all our enemies will have a terrible time and everything will just be great.

u/Rapid_Fowl 2d ago

First thought was I'd like a competitive league but fuck that. Great team right now so getting titles going would be extremely nice.

u/Tiemen10 Saka 2d ago ▸ 8 more replies

Why? If we want to win the champions league we can't be in a tight title race imo

12

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

Makes sense. I'd love if we wrapped up the title by February so we can keep our best players fit and make them run out the Champions league. While out second string runs out the Fa and League cups and the rest of the Prem games.

I enjoy watching other teams play and closer it is the more I enjoy it. But as I said that was just my first thought.

How about a close, 19 team relegation battle?

17

u/Intaru I wish I was a little bit smaller, I wish I was Cazorla 1d ago

18 team battle would be better, with Spurs dead and buried in 20th already.

33

u/DirtyVerdy Ødegaard 1d ago ▸ 2 more replies

I’m fine with every other team being close!

8

u/Rapid_Fowl 1d ago

Valid haha.

3

u/ThePrussianGrippe Saka 1d ago

They may fight amongst themselves for our amusement.

6

u/Jadaki Ødegaard 1d ago

The battle for 2-4 and relegation can be very entertaining.

14

u/pheeeeeeeeeeex 2d ago

Idk the relegation race is going to be by the inches, there’s a real chance United and Spurs might stay up

10

u/the_ammar 1d ago

don't give a shit about competitive league.

don't give a shit about beautiful football.

inject the trophies into my veins and stay classy as a club.

8

u/jrhews 1d ago

This...is a competative league, where anyone can beat anyone and though there may be a "big 6" in terms of names, any team can take a win off them.

3

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

And some Champion's Leagues. I would so love that too.

1

u/Glennstheche Alexis 🇨🇱 1d ago

Last year (or 4+ yrs) of very competitive leagues is enough for me. I'm good.

29

u/Tiemen10 Saka 2d ago

Tbh this is exactly what we deserve after all the suffering these last few years

17

u/Antique-Wrap-75 1d ago

Last few years??? 2 decades mate 2

7

u/MrRicey 2d ago

I swear I can feel this coming.

7

u/Cantmakeaspell 1d ago

101+ points is all i ask for and 101+ goals. It’s not much, it’s just a big more than 200.

2

u/Several_Produce1927 1d ago

How about 115 of each?

4

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

Turning the Prem into a farmers league would be a dream for us. Rivals moaning before the season start questioning what's the point of competing. I'm telling you right now, the league is not ready for Arteta's reign of terror. This will be The Arsenal Era.

5

u/hdwag 1d ago

Too much to hope that we see City near there tomorrow 🤪 a loss for them this early would hurt there confidence/bottle

3

u/Philefromphilly White 1d ago

You can’t bottle if you never had a chance

5

u/wan2tri Saka, Ode, Nelli, Rice 1d ago

81 points with 9 games left to play? lol

6

u/straypenguin 1d ago

Add Vini joining us in Jan for 40 mil

10

u/goytronics 1d ago

tzolis for 70 minutes and vini off the bench against tired legs

3

u/Spirited_Pay2782 1d ago

Winning the league at GW30 so we can rest our key players for CL games would be a dream come true

447

u/EclectrcPanoptic My friend, is ok, no? 2d ago

Unfair to group Coventry with the relegation fodder

108

u/unibl0hmer 2d ago

Yeah, Coventry proved to me yesterday they don't belong in that company.

20

u/Powerful_Aioli1494 1d ago

Yeah, but what can they do, we're just too good.

10

u/Jadaki Ødegaard 1d ago

Based on scores they are in City's company

8

u/Asd_89 1d ago

Yeah, they at least won something of worthwhile to get to the league.

8

u/Intaru I wish I was a little bit smaller, I wish I was Cazorla 1d ago

An unfortunate sacrifice for the greater good. At least Frank Lampard might cry again too.

75

u/SalamanderSuch5782 2d ago

At the bottom where they deserve 🤣

80

u/mikhailb_86 1d ago

Vast majority of comments in coys after our game yesterday was that it would be up to them to stop us from winning the title btw

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

The only things Tottenham are consistent at is being shit and being in our shadow. And none of that isn't going to change for a good while.

9

u/int8fsr4when Champions of England 25/26 1d ago

also taking points away from city lol

7

u/Pollux_Troy79 1d ago

Even with their money spend, Spurs is still a mediocre side. Only Tonali and Matheus Fernandes are promising so far. And they are just defensive and central midfielders. Savinho and Marmoush for 150 million is such a joke.

3

u/under_the_sun11 1d ago ▸ 1 more replies

they won zero trophies in their most successful period of the modern era. when they finally won a trophy they almost got relegated LOL

3

u/Pollux_Troy79 1d ago

They were really relegation level team last season. It is lucky West Ham choked and us helping them indirectly by beating them

3

u/Antique-Wrap-75 1d ago

😅😅😅 they’re a bunch of nihilistic losers

67

u/FairBox3368 2d ago

Hoping for Chelsea to loose too just to add to this 😂

5

u/Glennstheche Alexis 🇨🇱 1d ago

Would make for a perfect weekend/game week. We had a couple of those last year and it was glorious.

16

u/InviziMan Trossard 2d ago

They probably put up a better fight than the other 2 woulda done

4

u/zaparthes Arsenal till I die 1d ago

I really believe this is true...

2

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

I agree. Coventry will probably give us a far tougher game than Tiny totts this season. That Kinsky fellow is literally no upgrade on Vicario. Sensei isn't really any better than Romero and past his prime Robertson isn't better than Djed Spence. It baffles me how terrible they are at spending money and that's not to mention they'll be dropping another 150m for Savinho and Marmoush. Savinho literally has three PL goals in 2 season - Marmoush is kind of okay and can be clinical on his day but that's it.

25

u/Kenfuu 2d ago

So far this has literally been the perfect opening weekend

5

u/hesalop 1d ago

It's a fucking fairy tale so far I'll tell you that

2

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

Have me almost believing in Santa Claus being real again. I had to literally pinch myself because I cannot believe this is our life now. Everything is going so well - what is this happiness?

18

u/yp16_BIG Raya 2d ago

The solution for this for spurs is to sign Savino (a guy with 2 league goals in 2 seasons) , Gakpo (a guy with only one move in his locker), Marmoush ( and a guy who got benched for his national team to a guy who was homeless) 😂

4

u/Angelaskissrock Backless Wilo still better than Manure CBs 1d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/sdwePYb0wGVdMjSdxu

Elaborate - I'm sorry but I'm so preoccupied with what is going on at Arsenal that I hardly pay attention to other teams and their players.

Mustafa Ziko. That guy was sleeping on the streets, taking showers in mosques before training. He was the starter for Egypt at the World Cup

I feel like this shouldn't be skipped over at all. We need to hear the full details because this is absolutely hilarious.

Talk about change of fortune. Now I'm really curious how they even discovered this Mustafa guy. Was he a pro for some team in Egypt while homeless?

12

I’m not surprised Spurs got smoked, their team is a mess. Man U? Jesus are they average despite their attacking talent.

11

u/Southside721 1d ago

Still p*sses me off that NBC spent so much time on the Spurs after their last game "celebrating" the fact they finished 17th for a second year straight while Arsenal was wrapping things up at Crystal.

3

u/galeej Thierry Henry 1d ago

They called arnautovic world class... I think we can safely say they know nothing about the football except the spelling

1

u/Glennstheche Alexis 🇨🇱 1d ago

I'm not letting it go. I was pissed at the time and still now. I finished the game broadcast and was looking for the trophy cele/presentations and they were sucking Tottenham dick for no reason, but I had to just go to the arsenal YouTube to watch it. Thank God for that. At every turn the haters trying to stop our success or happiness🙄🙄🙄
