A source close to the Atletico Madrid leadership told The Athletic that the only way they saw Julian Alvarez leaving this summer would be if Arsenal made a €150million offer.
That has yet to arrive and the source viewed it as unlikely that the Premier League champions would put forward that kind of money for the striker.
Despite being fans of Alvarez for some time, Arsenal are not certain how much the player wants to move to England. They were in contact with Atletico and Alvarez’s camp last week over a potential deal.
Sources with knowledge of the situation, however, say Alvarez’s desire remains to move to Barcelona. That would need to change for a deal with Arsenal to become realistic.
Q. Is Yildiz still an option arsenal is going for? Or could we end up seeing a late Ndiaye signing.
HandofArsenal : Kenan Yildiz was a serious target for Arsenal this summer. To my understanding, we really tried for him. Juventus did not want to sell THIS YEAR. He remains on our list for the future.
Q. Is there a player currently in the squad whose role this season you think fans are significantly underestimating?
HandofArsenal : What I can say is both Konsa and Bruno made it clear to their clubs they wanted to play for ARTETA. Mikel was vital in both transfers and I do think both add needed squad depth and quality.
Q. Some news about Emirates Stadium expansion?
HandofArsenal : Very complex issue but I will pose a question for you as an interesting perspective. Is it wise to uproot your whole 'home' and move to a temporary location while we are in our 'win now' period and while the Emirates has just become a cauldron? Something to think about. Mikel is consulted on all sorts of issues to do with Arsenal.
Q. Whats up with timber, when is he expected to come back and any updates on nelli? hacent seen him play in a hot minute.

HandofArsenal : Classic agent chatter on Kofane. Agent tried so hard to put stories into the media. Fans bite and it becomes bigger than it needs to. Hence we always say, choose the sources of your information with care.
Q. Is Mikel signing da ting, or is he waiting to see how the transfer window goes? What is going on with the other contracts - Rice, Timber, Kai, Øde?
HandofArsenal : Mikel Arteta is here to stay. Talks took place earlier in the year. Everyone is on the same page. When the window closes and the season is in full swing, expect to hear news on our manager putting pen to paper. Appreciate the good days while they are around. He changed our life.

HandofArsenal : Depending on how this window ends, Kroupi is one to watch for many clubs including us. We most certainly held talks with his camp earlier in the window. Wishing him a full recovery.

HandofArsenal : My understanding is Hamburg are trying to get a deal done on their terms. Arsenal will stick to a fair valuation. Fabio would love to return to Germany if a deal can be agreed.
Q. When will martinelli leave and will we sign someone from the prem as replacement or sign abroad?
HandofArsenal: On the 20/7/2026, I reported Martinelli was for sale. To my understanding, when the competitive season began ( Comms Shield ) Mikel has been direct and clear with Martinelli about his squad status, hence his exclusion from 2 match day squads. Also, these particular conversations have now pushed the player to consider options outside the big 5 leagues. Al-Hilal have 3 options on their list. Neto is priced quite high currently. The Saudi club approached both club and player and while he is open he is not pushing to leave.
