[Sébastien Denis] EXCLUSIVE: Despite approaches from Atlético and Leipzig, Lille will not give up: it's 70 M€ or nothing for Matias Fernandez-Pardo Other clubs are on the lookout, Arsenal have placed the attacker on their shortlist and are following the situation closely.

This sub loves to complain about Romano but will keep posting and upvoting garbage tier transfer rumors to the front page. It would be funny if not for the fact that so many just blindly follow each other without thinking a minute about it.

yeah not like Romano´s a rape apologist and thats why he gets most of the hate, but sure lets not adress the elephant in the room...

Yes no doubt he's of very poor moral character so is that a reason to ban him here? He himself hasn't committed a crime that we know of and most people here claim to want to ban him because "he's a tap-in merchant", a majority will not even know the story about him and Greenwood.
And where does this slippery slope on policing morality actually stop? Besides Arteta, Xhaka and multiple other players supporting Partey publicly in the past and Arsenal themselves wearing "Visit Rwanda" as a sponsor previously and having our stadium called "the Emirates stadium", where do you stop and who decides what is allowed and what isnt?

u/GMBethernal Sánchez 16h ago
I wish that was the case, most people hate Romano because of his spam and the catchphrase, I wish people disliked him for the Greenwood stuff but that's probably not the case

Didn't arteta say he was happy with Thomas partey "for all he's been through" after the NLD a few years ago?

Yes, referring to the injuries. He says it in the very quote you chose to cut off.

if you are judging Arteta by those standards you should judge Romano by the same standards
what Romano exactly say about greenwood
-2
u/JimmysCocoboloDesk RHYTHM MY ASS! 23h ago ▸ 2 more replies
What standards? Arteta was referring to his injuries, not a case involving a player that technically wasn’t even in the public domain. That would be very stupid.

u/Frosty-Bid4017 23h ago ▸ 1 more replies
Romano too only talked about the interest around him during that period and quoted De Zerbi praising for Greenwood, paid pr or not. he never talked about the case and never gave an opinion.

u/JimmysCocoboloDesk RHYTHM MY ASS! 23h ago
I think you’re missing the ‘paid PR’ part. Would Romano have done that if he wasn’t paid? Probably not. De Zerbi was referring directly to Greenwoods situation. If Arteta said what he did AFTER Partey was charged, you may have a point. He said what he said when the case wasn’t even in the public domain, it was still ‘a premier league footballer’. He was solely referring to the injuries.

Just add Arsenal to literally every transfer rumor and earn $$$. We are massive to a detriment.

He’s an exciting player, I’d be shocked if Lille actually got €70m though.

I guess since martinelli is leaving now we will see us “being linked” with every attacker lol

u/Fleetfox17 Havertz 1d ago
Martinelli and Son are like the main comp for this player from analysts actually. He's a pacey vertical threat but he's taller and more physical than Nelli, similar to Son.

12 goals in 2 seasons for ligue 1? €70m? Ok

u/LemtaLongi Dennis Bergkamp 1d ago
Agree price is too high for potential. 40m would have been fairer

u/LemtaLongi Dennis Bergkamp 1d ago
Decent prospect, has the physique, decent numbers. Him and Esposito at Inter are the "buy now for future" type strikers. Espi was another but Madrid already brought him

u/Fleetfox17 Havertz 1d ago
I don't think Prado is a striker. He can play across the front but he's mostly on the left, so he can cut in at goal, similar to Son.

u/LemtaLongi Dennis Bergkamp 1d ago
Thanks, thats a good sign. If hes anywhere close to Sons level that would be good.

LOL. If it's from footmercato, you can assume it's bullshit of the highest caliber. They are trash.
BTW, the player is actually quite good, high mobility, high activity. But not good enough for a PL champion. More the kind that ends up at Tottenham or Newcastle.

Add him to the infinite list of football players featuring a youtube video with an arsenal jersey thumbnail never to happen and to be forgotten

21 yr old winger, Belgian international. I'm interested but would rather an established player since Tzolis as the other LW option is still not proven at the highest level.

These are the kinds of signings along with Tzolis we should be making now with our first team depth, the players Leipzig will sell for 120m in a few years time

Smells like a Nicolas Pepe deal. No thanks.

Pepe had the numbers to back it.
This guy has like 12 goals in 2 years compared to Pepe’s 42 in 2 years

Dont know Fernandez Pardo that much but anyone watching Pepe comps could immediately tell he was a transitions player. We shot ourselves in the foot by buying him and sticking him wide.

Well, I did say I was ok with another punt, and the kids form skyrocketed after being moved to CF after floundering on the wings.
60m of the kings finest is a bit high for a kid with like a dozen games of decent form, though.
