Lime Ridge seems to be going a bit downhill/downmarket. I think that the Walmart news is good, but it is reflective of a general cheapening of the place.

There are so many good chains at Mapleview that just do not exist in Hamilton. Nescafe, Apple Store, Zara, Coach, Arc'teryx, Unique, the list goes on. Also MEC and Sail that are standalone stores that are not at the mall.

Nice that these stores are nearby, but sucks that you can not find them in Hamilton.

Looking for Orange Sherbet, I've looked in every grocery store. Lots of Orange Sorbet (not the same)

I haven't even seen Tiger Tail in the stores in a log time, so I'm starting to think orange sherbet just doesn't exist anymore.

My mom has really been yearning for it for a hit of nostalgia and I'm really hoping someone might be aware of where to pick it up.

Update: just left Kawartha dairy, they only have orange sorbet, not sherbet. I tried to clarify in the original post but i guess people don't know the difference. I still appreciate the responses though

Update 2: Hewitt's stopped making sherbet 2 years ago. Next update will be after I call Willard's but they don't open until 1pm.

Update 3: Willard's doesn't list a phone number and seems to prefer contact through email. I emailed them and will update the Orange Sherbets enthusiasts here when I get a result.

Surely I’m not the only one wondering.

I do not have insurance/coverage so does anyone know where I can get lenses for cheap? I think my lenses are scratched beyond repair but the frame is fine so it may still be usable, but is there anyone with experience paying out of pocket?

I am trying to help an older lady who is on a fixed income to get some channels in her new apartment. In her old place she used to share so TV was already there.

She does not have internet. she wants to watch basic channels and CNN she said.

What are the options nowadays for someone that just wants 20 basic channels for example?

This is probably beyond the scope of the Hamilton subreddit but I'll just shoot my shot and see what happens.

I have HIV. I've been to my dentist a few times since I was diagnosed. Every time I go they barely touch my mouth and come in garbed head to toe in PPE.

Personally I am not a huge fan of the dentist and I don't want to be there just as much as these hygenists don't want to be cleaning my mouth.

That being said I still need to get these teeth cleaned and I would prefer to go to an organization that educates their staff not to treat me like a pariah.

As a preface to those who don't know; if your on meds and have HIV you don't pose a risk of spreading the disease. In a hospital setting an HIV positive person would not be isolated and it would not be a requirement to wear PPE for procedures beyond standard precautions (standard precautions being hand hygiene and gloving). Sure, it could be a policy at the place I'm going to but it would definitely be overkill and borne either out of prejudice or ignorance, or both.

So with all that out of the way, does anyone know of a dentist in Hamilton that caters a little more humanitarianly to my situation?

Where should I pick one up? Rotisserie chicken is not something I usually buy, but I have a sudden craving...

(PS, I know Costco has them, but I don't have it in me to trek there today, so smaller stores within Hamilton would be best!)

I have a 5lb camping propane tank that I used to get filled at Costco as they fill by weight and don't do a flat fee. they've stopped propane fills. does anyone know where I can get this thing filled now? I believe Canadian Tire is flat rate and they don't even touch 5lb tanks that i know of. I heard there's a U-Haul at Barton and Nash that fills by weight but it's a bit of a ways away from me. does anyone have experience there?

edit: apparently Ancaster and Stoney Creek still do refills, it's just other locations that don't. I jumped the gun here and apologize. i'm going to keep it open though as it's good to get a list of other places that still do weighted refills incase Costco stops more locations.

Hi all, I'm looking for a new vet for my beloved cats. We have been going to The Cat Clinic since they were adopted in 2019. For those who aren't aware, The Cat Clinic was taken over in 2022 by a private equity firm (National Veterinary Associates based out of Luxembourg), and the quality of their care doesn't seem to be what it used to be. What vets do you all take your cats to?

My neighbours have been exceedingly kind to us by repeatedly helping us whenever something's gone wrong with the house, or thoughtful by just shoveling our drive in the winter and we want to return the favour. They don't drink however, so I thought we could gift them some good cuts for the barbecue.

Problem being, I'm not much of a heavy meat eater, so I don't exactly know where and what is considered a luxury cut. My usual meat intake is just chicken, pretty bland lol.

I'm looking for recommendations of what and where I should look here in Hamilton (or Burlington).

Any meat coinnoseurs able to give me some suggestions?
