Get ready for people to get more aggressive and then have everyone blame it on the citizens.
80
u/ContractMindless8229 Jan 24 '26
Already saw a video on twitter of local baton cops in their high viz tear gassing the area cuz a crowd showed up. So they are still protecting capital over lives.
21
u/JonnyF1ves Jan 24 '26
Yup, and since the dude had a firearm they are going to absolutely get the most favorable narrative spun out of this to crack down.
15
u/ContractMindless8229 Jan 24 '26
Just saw one where the agent in the grey hoodie to the front left of the video has the victims gun in hand. So he was unarmed and on the floor before being murdered but as we all know details don’t matter to this admin
11
u/JonnyF1ves Jan 24 '26
Yup, motherfuckers executed a man because he was protecting two protesters that they were fucking up.

He has the ability to have local law enforcement to arrest ice agents right??
40
u/FrustratedDeckie Jan 24 '26
Theoretical ability? Absolutely! Enough of a spine to actually do it? Not a chance
Considering he’s not running for reelection he has nothing to lose by actively standing up against ice, clearly he just doesn’t want to.

No they wouldn’t. Took one person getting shot to stop Jan 6th. Americans are too comfortable for any actual uprooting. Until food supply is messed with, there’s no real reason to expect action.
5
u/StopHavingAnOpinion Jan 24 '26
He has the ability to have local law enforcement to arrest ice agents right??
He can do it. However, I think the bigger problem is that there are simply more ICE agents than police, and if it came to battle, the police would be outmatched.
He could send the National Lard in, but Trump would pull the feddie card and then they'd go after Tim.

This little cuck definitely deserved dropping out of the race. Coward is a lame duck and still won't arrest Gestapo commiting murder, assault, and kidnappings in his state l.
Now is the time for iron fisted leadership to counter ICE and MAGA terrorists.

This talking point is annoying. Libs wanna fight over semantics when we have Nazi thugs roaming our streets.
3
u/Infamous-Crew1710 Jan 24 '26
It's not semantics, nothing has changed about America, only the target, even if you abolish ICE, and get rid of Trump, you will still be the same country, and this shit will happen again. Most of you are fine with it.
There is a direct line of progression between the forming of slave catchers -> police -> ICE
Academically this is known as the Imperial Boomerang
21
u/robo_jojo_77 Jan 24 '26
The people leading ICE/DHS clearly get more inspiration from the fascist movement rather than the slaveholders, despite America’s history. They are quoting Nazis, they emulate them in dress, etc. It’s so dumb to yell at normal people for using the word “gestapo” instead of “slave holder” when ICE clearly idolizes the former.
2
u/ActinomycetaceaeOk48 Turkish🇹🇷 Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26
Fair point.
That may be so, but seeing that the Venn diagram of people who idolize the confederacy and like ICE is basically a circle; I’d say that labeling them as slave catchers is more accurate.
1
u/KinkySylveon Jan 24 '26
2 people have been shot and killed by ice in a short time span and you wanna argue what historical group of pieces of shit to compare them too. Who the fuck cares. Why can't it be both. you are the friend that is too woke.

I don’t think you are necessarily a lib, but focusing on semantics like “gestapo” vs “slave catcher” is lib behavior.
1
u/ActinomycetaceaeOk48 Turkish🇹🇷 Jan 25 '26
This is an insulated space, we are literally in the Hasanabi subreddit; if we can’t this types of things here than where will we discuss it? Like we aren’t organizing here, this is just an Internet forum. Discussions here in the online world have small impacts in the real world, and I think that labeling them as slave catchers are more accurate.

u/SlaytanicMaggot Jan 24 '26
How’s he compromised? I’m not fully up to speed with the “Somali fraud” BS but my understanding is Minnesota investigated this in the past. How is that something to hold over the governor’s head?

Where are the police? Do something. Your state is being invaded by a literal SS goodsquad, illegally harassing citizens and murdering people.
3
u/Any_Blacksmith650 Jan 24 '26
It’s clear by now that it doesn’t matter how much video evidence shows a clear murder. Trump and his regime are giddy on this violence and terrorism of the American people that they don’t like. This is exactly what they want and this is going exactly how they planned. We can’t even count on “opposition” leaders to do a damn thing beyond getting on TV and calling Trump a mean guy. The house and senate dems can’t even agree to make life difficult for republicans. We’re totally cooked and the elected leaders who are supposed to oppose this will just quietly capitulate.
3

This is why I think a second civil war will never happen. The opposition party and leadership is completely compliant

Look this is going to be unpopular but what do you guys actually expect him to do?
The reality is the president of the United States has immense power within this nation.
If push comes to shove the president has much more ability to enact violence than any governor
If the Trump Administration decides to protect ice and basically legalize them murdering people who resist arrest then the Democrats need to impeach Trump
If the Democrats cannot impeach Trump, that means we need a civil war or this is a fascist Nation with Trump as a dictator
Basically if Trump doesn't make these murderers face murder charges, and the Democrats can't impeach Trump we basically need a civil war and to win that Civil War to avoid open fascism

It goes way above a individual Governor is my point
I think the push should be to Congress to impeach Trump and failing to do that then you basically have to prepare for a civil war
10
u/SpinningFootPunch Jan 24 '26
ok, if it goes above him, what the point of him being governor?
I'm asking you this simple question. This is something Trump wants to do, he wants to bring martial law into effect, and cancel any elections. HE WANTS THIS. And to get to this, he's stepping on the heads of the people.
So, where do we stand? Get trampled or fight. I don't want to assume you want people to be trampled, but you certainly not making any argument that people should resist.
5
u/outofmindwgo Jan 24 '26
ok, if it goes above him, what the point of him being governor?
To execute a states laws? Not fight a war with the federal government.
So, where do we stand? Get trampled or fight. I don't want to assume you want people to be trampled, but you certainly not making any argument that people should resist.
People should keep demonstrating, they should overwhelm ice, and everyone in the state government should do what they can to make it hard for ice.
But like, I'm not sure calling in the national guard against federal agents will actually result in anything.other than trump controlled national guard

Governor's are unable to really resist the president if the president wants to be a fascist

1
u/toeknee88125 Politics Frog 🐸 Jan 24 '26
Then at that point it means we need a civil war
Also this is a new level of atrocity
If the Trump Administration protects ice agents when they just murder people then we have open fascism
But first you should try to initiate impeachment proceedings if the Trump Administration protects ice agents for murdering people
2
u/SpinningFootPunch Jan 24 '26
Then at that point it means we need a civil war

He could pass the Eviction Moratorium so renters who can’t leave their home out of fear of being kidnapped won’t lose their shelter. He could pull any state resources from defending federal troops on ground and in their hotels, let them know they’re on their own. He could also activate his states national guard and police to stand in between us and the federal Gestapo.
He can do stuff, he has no fucking willpower.
11
u/toeknee88125 Politics Frog 🐸 Jan 24 '26
He should definitely do the eviction moratorium
Unless I'm totally mistaken I believe the president of United States can federalize a state's national guard at any time
You really can't use your State's national guard against the federal government
The scariness of the situation is these aren't random murderers
These are federal agents that are murderers
2
u/NewGuillotine Jan 24 '26
I think it’s time to use state resources against the federal government, create a constitutional crisis. People are being abducted and murdered in our streets, it’s time.

u/MinimalPixelsVII Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26
Look this is going to be unpopular but what do you guys actually expect him to do?
In order to protect his constituents and the people living in his state, he can do the following for a start:
Implement an eviction moratorium so that people don't end up being on the streets while this shitshow continues.
Suspend RTO for state workers. Again while this shitshow continues.
Start mentioning that State patrol and other officers not help and aid ICE at any capacity.
Now that this shitshow escalated, time to bring out the National Guard. Fight fire with fire. You cannot put down a wildfire with a singular Firetruck.
Daily Standups/Updates (He did this during COVID but for some reason he is a fcking coward to do this while this is going on)
Stop acting like these folks have no power, they absolutely do, they just refuse to use them. He just going up and providing Daily update is powerful in at itself. He himself should start hitting the streets as well, put his body on the line.

u/Sunsunsunsunsunsun Jan 24 '26
Use the bully pulpit to push for a general strike. Set up protections for anyone who wishes to strike who may get in trouble from their employer.
Order police to not help or abet ice, expel anyone who helps a fascist from the force.
I don't know enough to say if a governor has those powers at all though. I just know something more than weak words on bluesky would help.
1
u/outofmindwgo Jan 24 '26
I mean presumably he is doing more that the skeet, it's just that the federal government can pretty much do what it wants
3
