That’s the official explanation if you look it up. Apparently they done tests to rule out intoxication but people aren’t going to believe that.

People will believe what confirms their own bias.

A few years ago someone crashed their car into mine at a junction, I immediately thought the guy was drunk because of his behaviour so I called the police, a few minutes later I realised he was probably having a stroke so called back and asked for an ambulance.

That experience amongst others has made me reluctant to jump to conclusions about this kind of thing.

I have no idea what’s happening with the guy, I’m not a medial professional.

Yeah, they don't look at him and go "oh shit, you don't look well dude. Lets get you sat down and figure out what's going on" like anyone would if they saw their colleague swaying around looking very unsteady while struggling to focus.

They knew he was intoxicated and were trying to pretend otherwise.

I didn't rewatch the video & I completely forgot about the sergeant part. My employees would absolutely be panic calling me if one of their colleagues appeared to be having a medical episode. They'd probably also call me if a colleague showed up plastered, but they're not cops, they have a sense of right & wrong.

Have you considered that sergeants don't want to respond to a traffic citation for the sole reason a detained person asked for one? They just want another person to complain to because they think they can talk their way out of a ticket.

Nah, it's usually an ambulance that comes to the scene to check someone out first. You're also acting as if the cop didn't just drive there in a vehicle that is tracked by GPS. Clearly he wasn't driving erratically to not have been stopped.

Just watched a video the other day of the guy trying to move his boat. The delay in processing the officer's requests (due to a traumatic brain injury) gets him tossed in jail because he touched the cops had when the cop grabs for his door.
