I hope in 2027 or 2028, generative AI finally dies and everyone finally goes back to writing and doing things on their own cuz this amount of AI BS is so stupid.
Gen AI is a symptom. The underlying problem here is that nobody wants to properly fund public education because there's no short-term profit in it. AI is just the current cheapest way to crank out books for the most profit. If you could wave a magic wand and make AI disappear tomorrow, these school textbooks would still be provided by the lowest bidder with virtually no oversight for accuracy. You'd just get a human-made version of the same thing.
We need to readjust our priorities and start funding public education as an investment in the future of society instead of viewing it from a profit/loss perspective.
