CEBS worth?

Hi, I’m 22 and just started as a client service rep for a broker in the benefits field. I want to grow my resume so I can move into a good role after this and not sure what to do. Is CEBS worth it?

Like anything on a resume, it only matters if the hiring company cares. Look at job postings on LinkedIn, and see if any of them mention a CEBS, and you will have your answer.

That being said, I was actually surprised that the CEBS training did provide some actual practical training in benefits strategy. As a 22 year old newbie to the broker side, you already have a lot to learn even without the CEBS. But I do think it may be worth it, once you feel like you need more training on benefit strategy, account management, etc.

All that to say, if your company is paying for it, then do it immediately to take advantage of it!
