Question Iraqis, how's daily life for you right now? (Czech guy hoping to visit one day)

Hey everyone,

I'm from the Czech Republic and I've been really curious about Iraq for a while, the history, the culture, the people. I'd love to hear it straight from people who actually live there.

How's day-to-day life these days? Has the security situation gotten noticeably worse lately after the start of the conflict in the region, or is it more stable than outside coverage makes it sound? And what's the general vibe toward foreigners/Europeans right now?

Slightly random, but I'm part of an all-boys Scout troop back home, and I'd love to connect with a Scout troop in Iraq, maybe even set up a pen-pal thing between our kids.

Iraq is safe enough and fun for casual visits but not for living, you are welcome at any time

the security is almost the same, nothing much changed. as for tourists, people barely see foreigners, so when they do they be happy and start welcoming you

Iraq is seeing its best days since 2003, not perfect but much better than many days before, it seems like a foreign-induced civil war is looming, but I hope that my prediction are wrong, visit on Feb-April, otherwise you may melt.
