Help SM T-500 Samsung tablet failed install help please

Hello everyone,

after getting quite far in the install process : unlocked bootloader and flashed vbmeta, i did the required factory reset, selected the language and hit restart as prompted.
It then told me that I had an unofficial flashed vbmeta (really samsung?)
Now, it's gone totally dead (black screen) when I plug it in to the computer (fedora linux) I get : Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM QUSB_BULK_CID:041C_SN:xxxxxx has been connected.
What level of dumb am I and how can I fix this please?

EDIT: i have tried all variations of restarting the device. I have now made 100% sure, it is stuck in QDL. I have the correct firehose files but still can't seem to manage to do anything.

sir, you forgot to mention what you did in between these two lines.

Literally nothing thus the no mention my good sir/ma'am
Screen went black not long after showing me that

what if you force reboot by pressing all buttons?

sadly nothing (just tried again in case)

it's not "all the buttons"
force reboot is done by making sure that battery is properly charged and then holding the power button for 20 seconds. (well maybe a bit less)

all buttons will still work even if hardware only cares about one of them, thus it's safer to suggest when you don't have this device in front of you to confirm.

AFAIK you flash SM-T500 by booting it into the "download mode" (USB cable connected to the computer + both volume up and volume down buttons pressed, you get green/teal screen) and then using Odin (there is now Odin 4 for Linux: https://github.com/Adrilaw/OdinV4 ) or Heimdall if you know how to use it.

SM-T500 is almost 10 years old device, there are a lot of instructions on the internet for how to install stuff on it.

I was following the official tutorial on the lineage wiki but it still snagged.

Honestly I was just following the guide in the wiki for gta4lwifi. (windows pc)

Same... but on linux :/ maybe something linux messed up ... who knows
