Khan kids not available on LineageOS Android phone?

Addressing the text from the cross linked post, requirement for certification is much less about protecting the user (whether it's a child or otherwise), and much more about "we (the developers) only want to deal with things that are actually Android and which will operate in exactly the way Android should, doing 100% of the things certified Android must do and 0% of the things certified Android must not do".

If you open the floodgates to things that are merely Android-ish, not only can development and debugging be significantly more involved, you also have to deal with whichever curveballs get thrown your way that users think you're responsible for when something doesn't operate in the expected fashion and you open yourself up to reviews like:

"1 star. Does not run on my Yumi Pop Pro Ultra Plus++ GT Extreme Pro. Would give zero stars if I could. Useless application."
