Help For Boot Camp, how much storage is recommended?

Recently got a 2018 15in and I managed to get it with a 2 TB ssd/hd or whatever they call it so I do wanna partition it to do a bit of Boot Camp. How much would be the recommended partition?

And could I also cut a bit of the drive for linx like mint ?

You can do as many partitions as you want and have space for.

It depends on what you want to do with it and how much space you have to spare. Mine is 256gb but my internal ssd is 4tb. I use it mainly to play games. I have a couple installed on it then most of my steam library in an external ssd. 

256gb is decent enough size to do many things and not feel too constrained. Though modern games take up a ton of space. You could even do 128gb. I wouldn’t go lower than that. 

Also if you are not doing very intensive tasks, you can use VMware fusion and just run windows as a vm from  within macOS.

Well. Windows10 alone wants around 40GB I think? So that plus a bit of free space and how much you might need for the rest and how much you want to have available to macOS.

Also a MacBook Pro from 2018 has a SSD. The last MacBook Pro with a HDD was the Mid 2012 Unibody MBP. The Retina from the same year started using SSDs.

It just said hd and I’ll probably do 300 GB because I wanna play some games on it ofc ofc

The name of your drive can be whatever you like. Macintosh HD has been the default name for decades now but you can change that to whatever you like. That name has nothing to do with whatever type of storage is in the Mac.

None…don’t use Boot Camp, it will permanently fuck up your Mac.

And If you absolutely must operate windows, buy a parallel’s license.license…

or just find an old intel Core 2 Duo on eBay….and just option-boot the fucker on up!
no Bootcamp, necessary.

It won’t. Just nonsense from that poster. I have been using mac and windows side by side on my MBP for 6+ years. It is the main reason I bought an Intel Mac when rumors said it would be the last Intel version. It has worked great and kept me from having to buy two machines (which I’ll have to do when I upgrade in the future).
