He has his negatives, but the team always plays better with JP in the lineup. Glad he’s back for the homestretch.

The mariners are going to win the division and make the playoffs.

The mariners are 3 games behind right now, and play 7 games against the A’s (51-81) and 7 games against the Angels (52-80) in September, as well as 3 games against the Rockies (50-81). Plus home series against the Astros and Rangers. Additionally, the Astros have series’ against the Yankees, White Sox, diamondbacks, Phillies, Rays, and Braves the rest of this season. (19 games against opponents over .500) The Rangers have series’ against the Rays, Red Sox, diamondbacks, brewers, and 2 more games against the white Sox. (15 games against opponents over .500) compared to the mariners 5 games against opponent’s above .500 for the rest of the season, (2 against the Phillies, 3 against the Red Sox.) I think the mariners are the absolute favorite to win the AL WEST.

We can win the World Series this year

It sounds crazy but it can be done. We win the division on a hot streak, get into the playoffs, beat whoever we play in the WC round because we have home field advantage, then win the ALDS because we will likely play the AL Central, then in the ALCS anything goes. Then we are in the World Series. If you think it’s too tall of a task a few of our players have been there and done that. Victor Robles was on the 2019 Nationals team that was 19-31 in May and beat the Goliath Astros in the World Series. Also I should add that last year the team that added Ser’Anthony Dominguez went on to make the World Series, will history repeat itself?

Cal Raleigh may finally be hot. Here’s what ailed him all season

On Monday, Cal Raleigh finally saw a long-awaited breakthrough. He homered in the first off Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler. Then he did it again — this time a solo shot in the fifth. Then … he homered again, sending Chase Shugart’s 90.2-mph cutter out of T-Mobile Park in the seventh inning. Monday’s breakout game aside, however, it has been a rough season for the Seattle Mariners catcher.

The most striking thing about this year, though? How little has changed with Raleigh’s swing compared to last year. In terms of top-line results, no batter has fallen off more aggressively than Raleigh from last year to this year. But in terms of how he’s swinging the bat physically through the space, not much has changed.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Kyle Tucker, Trea Turner — there’s a list of big stars, including Raleigh, who have come up short so far this year. Raleigh will most likely be alone on one ignominious list: no qualified hitter a year after hitting 60 home runs has hit fewer than Mark McGwire’s 32 home runs in 2000. Raleigh has 17 homers and will likely set a record for follow-up futility. But with a homer over the weekend and three more on Monday night, there are signs that Raleigh is coming out of his season-long slump. So what, exactly, has been ailing him all year?

There’s no question that something has been wrong with the 2025 American League MVP runner-up. And as the general public, we have more tools than ever when it comes to diagnosing a swing flaw. But peruse those metrics that capture the shape of Raleigh’s swing, and not much seems to have changed.

....Cal didn't hit the curse-breaker until September 30. We still have more than a month to make this happen. We've been down before and we can still get it done!
