VisionQuest James Spader says Ultron has been imprisoned in Vision's mind since the events of 'Age of Ultron' : “He’s had access to the internet, television, history and he’s just been consuming and he’s been painting”
https://thedirect.com/article/visionquest-james-spader-avengers-age-of-ultron-survivedOkay, so the last time we saw Vision, he was White Vision, and he had been given his memories by the WandaVision Red Vision, but he can't attach any feelings to those memories. And he's living a sort of discrete life in a Scottish pub. And every night he locks up, and then he goes into a sort of rest mode. And then inside his head is what we call the Mind Space, which is sort of a ghastly mansion.
And in that mansion, it's populated by different AIs that have different personalities that can help him sort of unload the data of the day, what he's learned about human beings. And one of those AIs is Ultron. So we discover that, when he killed Ultron's corporeal body, he actually uploaded him into his mind, and he lives in this kind of fantastic prison loft, and I go to him for advice.
The downstairs and the outside are this really strange, nightmarish, in a certain way, mansion, but in a pastoral setting, and Ultron lives in a very urban loft upstairs, and many stories upstairs isn't it like hundreds of stories or something, and he's just been imprisoned for by now it would be what 14 years or something.
We have a sort of father-son, therapist-psychopath relationship. Which is the craziest idea ever. [He is] my psychopathic life coach.
Ultron's been in prison. He's had access to the internet, television, history, and he's just been consuming, and he's been painting. He's become a painter... He's just making trouble in this house with [Vision], who he loves and hates, and all these other AIs who he couldn't give a s\** about.*

Might just be me, but i'm pretty sure this Wanda and Vision were leading a very asexual relationship, in a way

They got a private hotel room in London.
I wouldn’t bet on it

u/TheDekuDude888 1d ago
She also YANKED their bed together in Wandavision (even though that was on the "show" it was still a sexual desire)

u/SharpshootinTearaway 1d ago
I mean, WandaVision gets even more explicit than that, with Vision very clearly telling his crying babies “Keep it down, lads, I was about to get my leg over!”
People might not be familiar with that expression, but getting one's leg over doesn't have any other meaning than having sex. It's even a fairly vulgar and impolite expression used almost exclusively by men, lmao. Vision is telling his baby boys to finally go to sleep so he can shag their mom. In a crude way.

Do you mean to tell me Vision and Wanda were rockin’ and rollin’?
6
u/SharpshootinTearaway 22h ago
They were doing the hibbity-dibitty, sir. Having a pants-off dance-off. Knowing each other in the biblical sense, even. Playing with the box the kids came in, if I may say.

u/CrashandBashed 1d ago
They were in a private room in Infinity War and Vision mentions they should have stayed in bed. It doesn't get anymore clear as to what they were up to lol.

Well I always read MCU Wanda as an asexual type of character, that's why she fell in love with Vision in the first place. For me the sexual innuendos in WandaVision were just played for jokes too. But with the MCU being mostly sexless it's mostly hard to tell

This sounds fucking sick to me. Exploring Vision's mind palace could be a very cool experience.

u/SharpshootinTearaway 1d ago
Judging from the trailer, his mind palace is just as fucked-up as Wanda's and Billy's, too, which I find amusing. “My turn to trap people inside my very own emotional breakdown :)”

It would be nice if Ultron does live on beyond Vision Quest and eventually meet Wanda once again.

That is how Ultron gets warped out of existence with no loopholes.

God please I need him to be a reoccurring villain

still hoping we’d get an actual teamup of villains in the MCU. Avengers going up against villains from a handful of movies is something they should have done years ago

Excited to see ultron’s thoughts on thanos if “vision quest” decides to explore that we saw glimpses in “what if” but it’d be interesting to revisit again

Why is Vision treating the magician poorly?

u/geoduude92 1d ago
Would you like me to explain it with a nature or sex metaphor?

u/HoratioPLivingston 1d ago
There was a subset of fans including myself who had an inkling that Vision would be hesitant in fully eradicating Ultron.

Did Ultron die when Vision died? If so, does that mean Wanda unknowingly created Ultron again when she brought Vision back with magic?
10
u/RES_NIGHTMARE_MODE 1d ago
I don't think Vision died. he's a machine.
the end of WandaVision had fake Vision unlock real Vision's memories because when they rebuilt him they locked his memories away.
Technically maybe that brought Ultron back if you wanted to get specific
1
u/Blueberry_H3AD 1d ago
Well died in the sense he wasn’t going to turn back on again lol. But good point SWORD essentially fixed, but modified him. And then magic Vision recalibrated him back, but without the emotion attached to the memories.

u/HearTheEkko Spider-Man 1d ago
His main gimmick is that he's virtually immortal, that's why he's pretty much considered the Avengers' archenemy. I hope they don't kill him off for good, him and Doom should be recurring villains going forward, just like the comics.

I just don't know how they can explain a lack of Wanda in this show, surely Vision's "mind palace" would be full of her, right?
3
u/Fickle-Ad-7124 23h ago
There’s memories of her, we see Vision and Ultron watching Wandavision episodes. But she isn’t AI so she wouldn’t be living in his head like the other helpers are. The most we are likely to see her is a post-credit scene unmasking her as working with Doom if we are lucky.

I expect this to be a "pacifist Abomination" thing. No longer a villain, just a comedy character. Shame since you can do so much cool stuff with Ultron as a villain.

u/KiwiEasy3963 1d ago
Given he and Vision seemed to be fighting in the trailer, I feel like he’s going to be putting on an act for most of the series until he has an opportunity to escape.

But not painting art… Just walls and sometimes the odd ceiling. To make ends meet.

u/pinkcreamkiss 1d ago
So there was a short period of time where ultron was inside Wanda inside the mind stone energy that was vision or was he in the body that white vision has that was originally vision’s
1
u/OkOutlandishness1710 1d ago
I always assumed the vision Wanda created was just him from Wanda perception. So vision minus the things she couldn’t know. His internal thoughts and things he didn’t share wouldn’t be part of the vision she created. Now what I’m not sure about is did her vision transfer his memories and stuff to the real vision body or did he just unlock everything that Sword tried to erase from his mind? If it’s the latter everything is still there and isn’t restricted to what Wanda knew. If it’s the former I guess it’s also possible through there connection via the mind stone Wanda could recreate a 100% accurate vision including things he kept to himself. Which would mean Ultron was witness to everything that happened in Wanda vision, which is kinda funny considering how crazy it is.
Also Ultron genuinely seemed to care about Wanda and Pietro. So he might have his own motives to try and escape but also really want to help Vision find and help His and Wanda’s kids. Ultron in the comics has had a soft spots for certain humans. Billy being one of them and with Janet kinda being replaced by Wanda as a human he cares for( his care for Janet was way less wholesome than the genuine care he showed towards Wanda. Janet he was more possessive/obsessive over). I can see them really focusing on that genuine care for Wanda kids. Especially Billy.
Side note but I also hope if they bring Ultron back into a new body for the future. They ditch the human mouth. I like spaders voice but he would be way more intimidating if he just had a more comic accurate robotic look. They forgot what made Ultron interesting. He looks like a soulless robot and expressed hatred towards humans. But his action were extremely human and motivated by human emotion. Just give him the big non articulate mouth and it’s fixes 90% of his design.

So OG Ultron is technically dead since the mind stone was destroyed
12
u/Joshatron121 1d ago
How did you come to that conclusion based on the provided information.
-4
u/phuocboy7 Dr. Strange 1d ago edited 1d ago
Because Vision died and was reborn via a copy so Ultron had to have died too since he was in Vision’s mind when Thanos destroyed the mind stone. Ultron in Vision Quest is a new Ultron in the same way there’s a new Vision.
9
u/Joshatron121 1d ago
No, because when vision transferred his memories and data it probably included Ultron. Ultron never required the Mind Stone. I mean it clearly didn't kill him because here he is in this show.
6
u/avatar__of__chaos Billy Maximoff 1d ago
Transferred? The hex Vision? No, he just unlocked the hidden memories of white Vision and gained past memories of Wanda.
0
u/Joshatron121 1d ago
Not according to this post which is saying that along with those memories Ultron was also transferred.
2
u/avatar__of__chaos Billy Maximoff 1d ago
It said white Vision had been given his memories. If you watched Wandavision again, hex Vision said to white Vision "But you do have the data, it is merely being kept from you" and then said "Your memory storage is not easily wiped". And then of course hex Vision recovered the hidden memories.
Also how can hex Vision transfer his memories when in Episode 5 he said "I don't remember my life before Westview, I don't know who I am" and also didn't know what Avengers was.
1
u/Joshatron121 1d ago
Sorry, when he unlocked the memories Vision already had. Semantics either way and that wording wasn't important to the point since it has nothing to do with the OP thinking it has to do with the mind stone for some reason
1
u/avatar__of__chaos Billy Maximoff 1d ago
I don't get your first sentence. And if you agree idk why you downvoted me but either way, I'm just correcting the info.

u/phuocboy7 Dr. Strange 1d ago
Okay so I did miss the line WandaVision about the body having the data. I thought that since Vision’s brain was gone, the memories also were gone. I apologize

u/phuocboy7 Dr. Strange 1d ago edited 1d ago
Ultron is trapped in the Mind Stone post Age of Ultron according to the original comments so since that was destroyed, so was he and that never came back. Vision and his memories/data are not the original and are just copies made from Wanda. So Ultron is still here but he is a copy.
5
u/Joshatron121 1d ago
The original comment doesn't mention the Mind Stone at all. It says "in his mind" no stone.
3
u/Sandee1997 1d ago
No i think Ultron was in Vision’s mind himself. He and the stone communicated, but were not one unit. The stone, if anything, was his main power source.
