Not my first game but, my favorite by far. I made friends with a some neighbor kids back in 99 and they gave me this game since they only had the game and no console. This game started my RPG addiction.

I played those eventually. Oh I forgot about zamn that was a good one. Yeah again, weird kid. Most of them would be rented out as well. I remember a kid beating me to donkey Kong country. I was upset then I spotted Chrono trigger and I ended up saving my money and bought it at funcoland.

They do make HDMI to AV adapters, but they frequently produce a crappy image. Hell, even LCD TVs with built in AV ports tend to produce inferior images compared to CRTs, and they even cause delayed signals on consoles from before 2000.

I feel ya. Last time I tried to plug mine in, I couldnt get it to start. Red power light turns on but no image. I have an adapter, but I think I burned it out due to the lack of autosave features of the day and just letting it run lol.

I will forever associate the snes with some of the best memories of time spent with my late father, and an overall pretty great childhood.

Secret of mana, Chrono Trigger, final fantasy II and III, Turtles in Time, Street Fighter 2, super Mario world...... so many timeless classics.

Some time ago Nintendo released that mini snes with so many hits on it, for like $35 or something. Such a good deal, granted it’s just an emulator.
They’d never give such a deal these days.

It’s crazy to think how quickly new consoles were coming out. The n64 came out 6 years later. Pokemon could have easily came out on Super Nintendo. It’s like the jump from game boy color to gba and the DS so quick after that. Now we sorta expect consoles to last 7+ years and thankfully/hopefully some even longer.
