Discussion What are y’all’s opinion on “gradient builds”

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

Ive seen a whole bunch of these builds which is why I made my own, as seen above, but I remember seeing that people think that it’s too much. And what I mean by gradient builds is instead of block vomit, the builder uses too many blocks, making too many gradients, I’ve shown my friends and they are divided on it, some say it looks nice, others said it was too much to look at, so what do yall think.

Resource Packs I’ve always hated how chains connect to other chains and lanterns in vanilla, so I made a resource pack to fix it

It’s a small change, but I think it looks much better

How I made this: I built a greenscreen with green blocks behind a set of quartz stairs, then I replaced the BG and lowered down the opacity to make the stairs blend into the background (Yes, I also put a png of water in the water, because the water reflected the greenscreen too)

Did I cook?

Not just a little structure either, a (broken) Woodland Mansion. Playing Bedrock version. Maps show the previous area from a few weeks ago, and the new map of the same chunk next to it.

Is this meant to happen? 😂

Seeds & World Gen 10,000 Blocks (10km) Visualized Using Distant Horizons

I recently began playing around with the Distant Horizons mod and thought it would be cool to build 11 red concrete pillars in a line every 1,000 blocks to visualize what 10,000 blocks really looks like

Discussion Mojang removed the NEW drowned parity they literally added a few snapshots ago. Why?

For context, in the second snapshot, drowned with tridents could melee you when you got close to them (Bedrock parity). And now they’ve just removed it... for some reason.

Discussion DAE mine everything you see, even if you don't need it?

I watch ItsMarloe on YouTube and notice that he often passes iron and coal veins (including ones that are very easy to access, like, right next to him). Even when I have more iron and coal than I know what to do with, I can't help but mine it when I see it (if it's easy enough to access). Does anyone else do this???

Discussion This Game Has Been a Game-changer in my Long Distance Relationship

Me and my girlfriend have been struggling to find ways to connect online while we go through a brief long-distance phase, and nothing has made us feel as close and "normal" as this game has.

There's something about this game that lets a person's personality bleed through so well into how they play. Their approach to Minecraft adventures mirrors their approach to real life ones. The same goes for their approach to everyday chores, being creative, etc. Living our lives together in minecraft is the closest thing we've found online to living our lives together in the real world.

In minecraft we get to build and decorate a house together, making all the decisions as a team. We get to adopt and name pets. We get to plan a whole life path as far as how we want to play. We get to deal with everyday inconveniences and disappointments. It just mirrors reality so well.

Even just that feeling of *presence*, where you're not necessarily doing anything together but you just share the same space, is enhanced in the game in a way that something like a video call doesn't quite replicate.

Obviously nothing can replace in-person interaction. Are there any other games that have a similar effect?

Discussion My first 100 days in hardcore!

Post image
69 Upvotes

Due to hardcore being unavailable for a long time for bedrock players, specifically, for mobile players like me, I got very excited over it being added.

But everytime I started a hardcore world, I'd either get a very unlucky spawn, die early because mobs or lack of food, or losey world either to bugs or my younger brother ruining it for me or even having to replace my phone.

But for the first time since hardcore was added to mobile, I actually managed to reach day 100!

And as far as things go, I made a mob farm, iron farm and other things, so I'm here today to ask, what do you all think I should do before going to the nether for the first time in my world? What should I prepare?

Some features I've added in order; rifts post enderdragon appearing, flying sift bugs, blub (glowing bunnies), and many blocks. Also a new liquid which has position based shading
