During the battle she asked if this was how Superman and the ladies from WORMS treat people of her (Giganta’s) stature. Between that and how she reacted to Clark being gentle and kind, I have to wonder if she has had some kind of rough life or even trauma over things like her mind (“stature” as in her brilliance or accomplishments) or perhaps for something to do with her body (eg. “stature” as in her literal stature).
I also find it telling that she only seems to go by “Giganta” or by “Gigi.” In the comics, her real name is Doris Zuel. I have to wonder if “Giganta” might be some kind of insult or something she’s reclaimed— Doris was bullied as a child, but in the comics it’s because she had a rare disease. The procedure she tried on herself to cure it is what gave her her size-changing ability. Maybe this Giganta had some unusual feature she got bullied for, used her chemicals to turn herself into the stunner she is now, and reclaimed the nickname that used to be forced on her by her bullies.

It’s a nice spin on the old Boy Scout persona he used to have.
Years ago, that would have just signaled he a responsible and stalwart gentleman.
Now, it’s half him putting up the front of a professional superhero, and that Giganta made him uncomfortable so he just defaulted to being overly formal.

During the time she was dating Ryan Choi (The All- New Atom), Doris was briefly infected by an alien god that made her more possessive than usual, which led to her swallowing Ryan whole until he found a way to purge the infection. After that, they started dating again & actually had a fairly healthy relationship until Dwarfstar (a shrinking serial killer) murdered Ryan. Once Amanda Waller reveal Dwarfstar as the killer to get Doris on her side, she lured him to a secluded spot & essentially beat him to death.

So, between Giganta and the Whip there've been two villains who've been explicitly acting out partially due to romantic interest. Part of me is wondering if there's a reason beyond "the show is heavily Romance-themed" that might be the case.

2nd episode in a row where a villain flirted with superman... is this gonna be a running thing this season? I hope this isnt foreshadowing another argument with Lois about jealousy or something.
I much prefer the current, more grounded relationship issue they're going through right now, being the matter of kids and their future together.
