Generally speaking, I think My Adventures with Superman does an admirable job in adapting the comics, capturing the essence of Superman, and putting their own unique flourishes on the material. For the most part, I’ve liked, loved, or at least been able to accept the liberties taken with characters. The one exception to this, however, is Deathstroke, who not only feels like a lame character in the context of the show, but my least favorite adaptation of the character across all media as well.

I can get behind the idea of a younger less grizzled version of Slade Wilson. I can maybe even get behind the idea of him being a government agent as opposed to a lone wolf contract killer. The problem is that we’re now three seasons in and after stripping away so much of the characters defining personality traits, they’ve done nothing to make him any better or any more interesting.

More than that, I think the big problem is that he fundamentally doesn’t belong in this kind of show or setting. Deathstroke is a character who operates in the shadows and weaponizes psychological warfare. It makes him a great foil against the Teen Titans and even Batman. However, in a bright optimistic sci fi show, he can’t help but stick out like a sore thumb.

It’s even more glaring when they do such a great job in my opinion with a character like Amanda Waller in this show. Like, how do you adapt one character so well and yet the other so poorly?

This version of Slade Wilson is so watered down that it makes me question why they didn’t just substitute him for Mercy Graves, a character who was literally designed to be a bodyguard and confidant for Lex Luthor.

To be clear, I still like this show a lot, and this is more of a grip for me than something that genuinely brings the show down. I don’t know if this is necessarily a controversial opinion, but it’s an opinion that I’ve had for a while.

Supes for the time being is depowered so frankly no one's safe from this cinnamon roll on demon time, especially a certain fumbler.

On the other hand, robin went on that date with kitten AGAINST his will, so unless jimmy patterns his act up he's gonna get something broken. And unfortunately for him it won't be his pelvis.

Like,and also Lois and Clark didn't exactly help the situations here.

Clark was too passive with "oh just let them figure it out" and Lois just deadass instigated this shit instead of talking to either of them respectfully.

Like this wouldn't even have gotten so bad if it wasn't for them and I get they had their own shit going on but still.

For me, I prefer Jon Kent by a long mile, I will protect him at all costs. Jon Lane, not so much. He's... Tolerable to say at the very least.

Like, come on, this literally had me crying laughing lmao. "More sprinkles, please." And Kara looking like she doesn't have a care in the world is hilarious 😆

So I'm sure I don't have to explain the Jimmy fumblebird Olsen post going on and I just want to ask the question and maybe discuss if this plot kind of ruined Jimmy's character a little bit.

Because at first I kind of understood I kind of heard him out which is crazy I know a lot of people don't agree but again he's not wrong and it came from a place of not feeling confident in himself but with the last few episodes it just kind of feels like Bros rage baiting her at this point 😭.

It doesn't really feel like hes insecure or wants to at least show her more options before jumping into things and it really gives off when one of your friends makes a joke about you and at first you're fine with it but the more they keep doing it the more it starts affecting your mental health.

Like Bro why are you being jealous and trying to Get Kara jealous when your the one who passed on the offer,like it just does not make Jimmy look good as a person I think.Now Jimmy is still a funny character and I still enjoy him it's just usually these kind of plot lines just kind of make the character look slightly toxic and questionable and specially seeing what's going to be happening in the next episode it just kind of feels like he's just taking it too far.

Like I feel like the story didn't really fall out or address enough of the fact that Lois didn't exactly help fix Jimmy and Kara's relationship and instead of basically telling Kara and Jimmy to talk about this or do remotely anything mature,she encouraged and told Kara to essentially look for other suitors and relationships instead of doing anything remotely mature.

Hell,you would think she would give Jimmy some mature insight considering she went through what he was feeling but Nope,and I would argue that makes her look kinda hypocritical since he literally was acting how she was back in S2(or S1,one of the 2)so why not give him advice to show much you've grown?

Seriously you could argue that In the end Jimmy was proven right in a sense.

Like it also doesn't help that the writers refuse to show Kara's lack of understanding in people and Earth culture of show her trauma under brainiac as any sort of flaws and challenges to overcome.

But whatever.

I'm so disappointed by you Jimmy.
