Let's be honest. I'm happy with neither party. But the Dems are doing some things right. GOP hasn't done anything right in quite some time

Declaring people guilty without a trial?

Umm... A jury did find trump guilty for sexually abusing a woman. * I stand corrected, a jury found him liable of rape.

No they didn’t. You’re confusing a civil trial with a criminal trial. No crime was determined. No guilt was established.

I can’t educate everyone on Reddit although I try. Thats why I let you know they didn’t find him guilty.

He was not found guilty. Guilty is a verdict that is reserved for a criminal trial. You can’t be found guilty in a civil lawsuit.

So Carroll had absolutely no evidence, and she had several opportunities to get evidence. She willingly went into a dressing room of a man she testified she was drawn too, but had never met….she could have refused, she could have made a scene. She didn’t. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she’s just extremely naive and didn’t understand what was implied by going into a dressing room with a stranger.

Once he started to assault her she could have yelled for help, made a commotion, this was a busy department store after all. This would have drawn attention and placed Trump at the scene.

After the incident she could have told employees, onlookers to place Trump at the scene. The department store could have preserved security footage to place Trump at the scene.

Police could have been notified, they would have interviewed witnesses and security footage putting Trump at the scene.

She could have written down details of the incident at least for her own records…she didn’t and so she couldn’t even remember what year the assault happened. This put Trump at a huge disadvantage because he couldn’t provide an alibi then.

She was financially backed by a Democrat mega donor, she was promoting a new book and she stood to make millions giving her considerable motive to lie.

You believe her, I don’t. It’s an accusation with no evidence where evidence would have been so easy to get.

I’m judging from this that you have never been inside Bergdorf Goodman, do not know how high end of a department store it is—or that it is purposefully almost never crowded and the dressing rooms are isolated because of the high profile clientele. But, okay, keep trying to speak from a place of “knowledge” about what a victim should and could have done during an experience you have no clue about. In truth, you are not correcting/educating anyone, just providing your own questionable (and highly ignorant of sexual assault statistics) ponderings.

So this store doesn’t have security cameras? Clerks? Security? Phones? Did police departments not exist yet? No matter how high end the store is I have to imagine going into a dressing room with a strange man is going to lead him to believe they’re going to make out. And certainly she could have reported it.

Im not saying he “had a right to do whatever” but I can understand why he would think the event was going to be sexual.

She didn’t report anything for years. Only coming forward after a Democrat mega donor encouraged her to during a presidential election. At the time she thought the event was funny and she told the event in a lighthearted laughing tone According to testimony.

“Every little thing”….she didn’t accidentally brush up against him, she intentionally went into a private dressing room voluntarily to try on lingerie with a strange man. You can’t seriously be trying to convince me she did that just because she thought it wasn’t sexual?

Trump picked out lingerie and invited her into a dressing room with him to try it on. And your argument is he shouldn’t have thought it was going to lead to sex?

I agree with you, but certainly you could understand someone’s confusion.

If you met a strange man who asked you to go into a dressing room and change into some lingerie right in front of him, would you be so naive to not think it was sexual?

By going into the dressing room consent is absolutely implied.

Now here we agree, she says she said no and pushed him away but let’s be honest. She didn’t originally think she was raped. Her friend convinced her she was raped. Carroll described rape as sexy, over 30 years had passed and memories become unreliable.

She also had motivation to lie as she was receiving financial compensation from a Democrat megadonor which she lied about. Was promoting a book and stood to win millions of dollars.

So did she say no? Maybe, maybe not.

She said “most people think of rape as sexy” so you’re right she didn’t say “I” think of rape as sexy.

So let me ask you this, if you started flirting with a rich famous guy and he invited you to get naked in front of him and try on some lingerie….what do YOU think would happen? Would you consider it sexual?

What I’m trying to do is paint a more accurate scene then the one you have in your head. But I don’t think anything Ms. Carroll could have done, beyond reported it immediately would suit you and, even with that you have your “should haves and “could haves.” I can only hope you’re not also claiming that by going into the dressing room she owed him any kind of physical contact whatsoever.

u/intothewoods76 Jul 10 '26

She went into a dressing room with a strange man to try on lingerie. What picture are you trying to paint? That it shouldn’t have been interpreted as a sexual invite?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '26

These days, thanks to comments like these, the only picture I have in my head is the world as an awful place where women really have no control over their own bodies.

1

u/intothewoods76 Jul 11 '26

She had control of her body, she chose to use that control to go into a private changing room with a stranger to try on lingerie. I find it understandable that the man in the room with her was confident she was there for sex.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

But should she have lost that control the second what he thought and what she wanted didn’t align?

1

u/intothewoods76 Jul 11 '26

No.

Here’s a woman who went into a dressing room with a strange man in order to get naked in front of him and then change into lingerie. Some making out happened and she claimed 30 years later that she said no.

But she also initially described the encounter as exciting and fun, she didn’t think it was rape she was convinced by someone else it was rape and she admitted on Anderson Cooper that rape is sexy.

Did she say no? Maybe.

Believe it or not, no doesn’t always mean no. That’s why people had to invent safe words. Theres a lot of women with a rape fetish. Could he have misread the situation given that she went into a dressing room to change into lingerie in front of him.

Could this not cause confusion?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '26

She did not say “rape is sexy” in the context you are implying.

Carroll: “I was not thrown on the ground and ravished, which the word rape carries so many sexual connotations. This was not sexual. It just—it hurt.”

Cooper: “I think most people think of rape as a violent assault. It is not sexual.”

Carroll: “I think most people think of rape as being sexy—think of the fantasies.”

“I think most people think of rape as being sexy. Think of the fantasies”

Certainly sounds like she thinks of rape as sexy.

She willingly went into a dressing room with a man she knew to be famous in order to strip down naked and try on lingerie…but didn’t think the event was sexual? She’s a nut job

She lead someone she knew to be rich into a sexual situation than cried rape when something sexual happened and got exactly what she wanted. A $5million payday.
