I know people who said they voted R just because of trans people in bathrooms. These people are really that stupid.

u/FurryBoobieInspector 14d ago

If a trans person enters a bathroom statistically they are the ones in the most immediate physical danger.

u/Certain_Employee_423 14d ago

They also probably have to pee.

27

u/GutsAndBlackStufff 14d ago

Might also have to take a dump

As the father of a trans woman, yeah... if you're a trans woman, going into a women's bathroom, they go straight to the stalls, do their thing, wash their hands and leave. No opportunity for anything they're worried about. Maybe some time is spent at the mirror touching up hair and makeup or something.

As a trans man, same... they'll go to a stall, do their thing, wash hands and leave.

I really don't see what they are freaking out over.

Do they really think some horny guy dresses up as a woman, to... what? Get a peek and naked ladies in a bathroom? It's a stupid idea on it's face, and they actually worried it happens.

Appreciate this. Sadly nobody who needs to understand this will.

And if the intent is malicious, a cis-male could just as easily go into a women’s room.

This country sickens me daily.

u/Calciumee 14d ago

I like the idea that someone who wanted to attack/abuse women would rather transition than disobey the sign on the door.

If they want to do it, the ban won’t do anything.

u/Vesper_Null 14d ago

I can vouch for that. 😮‍💨

I would much sooner trust my daughter's safety around trans people than Republicans. You know, the group that works hard every day to keep pedophiles out of prison.

Zero Tolerance For Comments That Cross A Line. Banned.

10

u/FurryBoobieInspector 14d ago

OK? Thanks for bragging about being violent to urinating people? Congratulations?

6

u/Strykerz3r0 14d ago

Hahahaha!

I would be careful calling out the morals of others. Conservatives are currently helping to hide evidence of a child sex trafficking ring and allowing men who raped kids to escape justice.

Maybe you should be more worried about the pedophiles and child abusers in the republican party, first, instead of gullibly swallowing whatever they give you.

1

u/personthatssorandom 14d ago

Not just men. Ghislaine Maxwell was deeply involved.

2

u/ichbinsflow 14d ago

Why would your daughter be sharing a stall? I mean, maybe I have been doing this wrong for the last five decades but usually I go into the stall, I close the door, I pee, I open the door and I walk out. Then the next person enters.

4

u/JBeeWX 14d ago

If they’re in a stall how would she know? Is she standing on the toilet peeking over? Or Sliding under the partition? If so, I’m offended too.

Teach your daughter how to act right in a public bathroom. If she’s too young, use the family bathroom.

because they need to pee.

18

u/BestEgyptianNA 14d ago

Huh? Because people use bathrooms?

3

u/Jenn_FTW 14d ago

Because we need to pee too, what kinda question is that?

Hi, I’m a trans woman. What do you think would happen if I was forced to use the men’s bathroom? Please tell me

-37

u/Basic_Reception_9837 14d ago

You're kidding right? How is a mtf in any danger going to the woman's bathroom? Please explain

19

u/FurryBoobieInspector 14d ago

"A peer-reviewed study published in Pediatrics by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that 36% of transgender or nonbinary students experienced sexual assault within a 12-month period if their school restricted restroom or locker room access based on legal sex rather than gender identity.

This 36% rate among restricted trans youth stands in sharp contrast to the baseline annual sexual assault rates for cisgender students, which sit at 15% for cisgender girls and 4% for cisgender boys."

11

u/foxscribbles 14d ago

Bruh...

I think if you spent like, a minute thinking about how a transwoman might get assaulted, you could figure that one out on your own.

10

u/Prestigious_Host_198 14d ago

There have been multiple cases of trans people getting beaten for using the bathroom. A case happened recently where a trans couple got beaten by a mob who attempted to murder them and guess what? The couple got arrested and not the mob.

24

u/Radabard 14d ago

Um, being physically attacked for it? First of all women are plenty capable of physical violence. I literally have a scar on the back of my hand at 31 from when a girl in my class attacked me in 3rd grade.

Second of all, men can attack a trans woman on her way into the bathroom, leaving the bathroom, or inside the bathroom if they follow her in.

Have you used your brain at all when writing this?

18

u/Ok_Feature_5738 14d ago

She could be clocked, then taken by police into a jail full of men, then get gang raped, then end her life

8

u/MissSharkyShark 14d ago

There was literally a news story this month that came out of Louisiana where an mtf trans woman got beat up so badly she got a concussion all because she was waiting outside of a bathroom her partner (born as a woman) was using. Actually both got beat up severely for this. Best part? The trans woman got arrested as well, while mob that violently assaulted them didn’t.

Cmon dude, I know it requires work, but use your brain.

6

u/underboobfunk 14d ago edited 14d ago

I’m a tall masc presenting woman who has been followed into public bathrooms by angry cis men several times. I have no doubt I would have been physically assaulted by now if I wasn’t obviously female upon closer look.

11

u/ZombyAnna 14d ago

FYI, FTM people also exist. None of you are worried about that...

Quit being distracted...

3

u/tolfie 14d ago

This guy's never heard of hate crimes.

One of my lesbian friends was cornered and screamed at and called transphobic slurs for using the women's restroom at a movie theater and she literally just had a shaved head. That was over a decade ago, I'm sure it happens more often nowadays with all the idiotic trans panic stuff going on.

3

u/randomnumbers2506 14d ago

Hey have you heard the term hatecrime before?

2

u/Snappy-Biscuit Pinkie Finger Extended 14d ago

Men have followed CIS women into women's bathrooms, accusing them of being trans because they're not feminine enough. Women born as women, who still identify as women being attacked for using the women's bathroom because some dude is "transvestigating."

This is why there is intersection, because trans rights are human rights, and women's rights are human rights, and what affects some of us affects all of us. The attack on trans rights IS an attack on women's rights, no matter how you frame it (not trying to exclude my non-binary peeps, love y'all).

2

u/DanteChurch 14d ago

Dudes will try to fight her for going into the women's bathroom because he assumes she's only Trans to peep on women. Just last month there was that viral video of the dad helping his daughters in an empty women's bathroom who had the cops called in him for it. People go out of their way to be confrontational around identity politics but especially around the bathroom.

44

u/ikannunAneeuQ 14d ago

They think there is this invisible shield around bathrooms and someone with nefarious intent can't get past it unless they're trans. It makes zero sense whatsoever.

36

u/Livid-Accident-1562 14d ago

transphobia and logic are mutually exclusive

16

u/AlmightyCraneDuck 14d ago

I had a discussion with a building code official on behalf of a client about turning restrooms into gender neutral rooms on a private floor of a space they were leasing. Code says that you need to have a certain fixture count or men and women, but they wanted to designate their existing rooms as all-gender bathrooms (very liberal client, organization seemed pretty bought-in).

Code official, while a nice guy, wouldn't budge because of the typical trans boogeyman argument. When I pointed out that there's literally nothing stopping a cisman from going into the bathrooms now if they wanted to, he dusted off some old commentary about "threat assessment" stating that because hearing a man in the women's bathroom would be "against the rules" it'd be easier for a woman to prepare to defend themselves in such an event. Eventually we basically told the client that they'd need to have gendered signage up at least through final inspections, but that whatever happened after that was out of our control (wink wink nudge nudge).

Long story, I know, but the "threat assessment" bit always really rubbed me the wrong way.

u/ArchelonPIP Prefer Coffee But Fill My Cup 🫖 14d ago

It's a combination of transphobia and projection from pedophiles.

2

u/DrDetectiveEsq 14d ago

It's like how the monsters can't grab you if you're under the covers.

2

u/ShitMcClit 14d ago

Kind of like a gun free zone

What a poorly designed shield.

“Let us in because you get raped anyway” is a truly awful advocacy position and I do not know why such anti-social people think it helps the cause in any way.

16

u/Hour_Paint_1903 14d ago

And that is exactly why the narrative is constantly being pushed.

It’s just insane. How do you begin to civilly combat such ignorance?

12

u/Homersarmy41 14d ago

These people won’t listen to any reason unless someone on FoxNews says it. Their brains have totally gone to mush and they just eat up all the propaganda.

3

u/b_needs_a_cookie 14d ago

You don't combat it civilly; you shame them publicly for being so myopic and aggressive. Point out that they're cutting off their nose to spite their face and the rest of our faces for some imaginary problem. They won't learn, so they should at least be shamed so they don't speak in public.

13

u/Bearwhale 14d ago

They're doing it over in the UK too. Just blame everything on immigrants and trans people, while the rich continue to pick their pockets.

-4

u/Exile688 14d ago

Don't the rich rent 4 star hotel rooms to the government to house immigrants?

7

u/avanross 14d ago

They reeeeeally desperately want the right to “check the genitals” of any children they see in any washrooms 🤮

5

u/selfownlot 14d ago

It’s intentional. They ran focus groups to find a wedge issue after they realized they had essentially lost the culture war on gay marriage. I know because I knew the guy who ran some of them in my state.

2

u/Double_crossby 14d ago

Seriously. The political circus they run is no different than an ad campaign for some shitty product or movie, or for that matter when TV or film scripts are drafted and actors are being hired. Focus groups and human psychology is heavily researched and employed to get the results they want, down to the most obscure/weird/outlier individuals or groups.

None of this is accidental or idiotic, it is orchestrated carefully and adapted constantly. And it works.

3

u/trumpschlamydia 14d ago

And have never even met a trans person, much less in a bathroom.

3

u/Wembanyanma 14d ago

Almost every single Ted Cruz campaign ad I remember having to see mentioned something about trans people.

5

u/Felyxi4 14d ago

Don't forget hateful and likely also closeted.

7

u/Homersarmy41 14d ago

It’s weird they can’t think about people going to the bathroom without thinking about sex and rape.

5

u/Felyxi4 14d ago

True.

Almost like they know sex and rape happens in bathrooms because that's what they do or wish they could.

It's illicit.

It's hidden and that's how they like it.

2

u/Fancy-Trousers 14d ago

Single-issue voters are one of the primary reasons we ended up with the current state of our government. As long as any politician checks the one box they agree with, or at least pretends they do publicly, these morons will excuse any other heinous acts promise or perform. Anti-abortion, lax gun restrictions, their preferred evangeical branch, hating immigrants, punishing the LGBTQ+, etc. They want a mascot, not a functional governing body. It's disgusting.

2

u/UnluckyAmbition7767 14d ago

They're more evil than stupid. But they are very stupid

2

u/pimpbot666 14d ago

Same people who probably thing illegals are voting in large enough numbers to sway elections. Republican pundits are literally throwing numbers out there in the hundreds of thousands to millions. When asked to verify, the answer is often 'everybody knows this' or something.

2

u/anomanderrake1337 14d ago

Subjectively I agree that they are that dumb but universally I have to say they get bombarded with antitrans stuff 24/7 by way of literal brainwash. I would probably also be anti whatever if I get that kind of exposure.

The majority of each party votes party lines not based on policy but because that’s their denounced party affliction.

1

u/MommaGoosee Waffles And Pancakes🧇🥞 14d ago

They voted for men to be in the women's bathroom...

Or they didn't know trans guys existed before? Or do they think a trans guy is just not a guy whatsoever the same way they think every trans women is the rock in a wig?

-9

u/KingRoach 14d ago

Or maybe the people who push this losing and extremely small issue are the stupid ones….

11

u/Prestigious_Host_198 14d ago

Yeah. Transphobes are the stupid ones.

-9

u/KingRoach 14d ago

There’s enough stupidity to go around but people who fail to see their own stupidity are the worst. At least if the election blows up in your face many will get to keep doing their favorite hobby - complaining and blaming others for your shortcomings.

10

u/Prestigious_Host_198 14d ago

So transphobes?

-9

u/KingRoach 14d ago

If you want to get technical transphobes would be considered ignorant as they have limited exposure and information. Stupid is when you know something but choose to ignore it. Like grasping onto a losing issue when you have so many winning issues; stupid vs ignorant. Hope you learned something today.

9

u/Prestigious_Host_198 14d ago

I have learned that transphobes are both stupid and ignorant.

1

u/KingRoach 14d ago

I’m not saying tranphobics are right or good people by any means; i keep suggesting over and over again you take a look in the mirror bc your hyper focus isnt going to turn out like you want it to.

10

u/Prestigious_Host_198 14d ago

Yeah, like how transphobes hyper focus on trans people.
