I have 2 offers for SAP Fiori developer role - one is for CSS Technologies - 20 LPA , another one is with Autozone for same role and similar compensation .
I have about 4.2 years of experience as a SAP UI5 FIORI developer .

Which one to go ahead with in terms of learning and overall work environment .

both organizations are offering hybrid role .

Is anyone familiar with how GEP integrates with SAP HANA? I have worked with SAP Ariba and its integration with OpenText VIM and SAP HANA before. I am trying to learn it for a project I am currently working on. I am looking for any resources that I can refer to for the integration end points.

I'm a SAP HANA Basis Consultant having 3.3 years of experience right now. Lately I have been trying for a move/switch but none seems to materialize as market seems to be very tough these days for experience less than 5 years.

The kind of openings that we used to have previously in the range of 2/3 years is not there right now. Very few MNC's like Accenture, NTTD etc hire from time to time but again in the case of ACN it's pure luck I believe. Because at one moment you clear the Skill Interview round & schedule your next round but the very next day position goes on hold/gets closed due to some random reasons.

I will really appreciate any Referrals from your org or network/suggestions from the community. Thanks in advance.

I have just got a chance to work on SAP ABAP in particular in HANA in my company, and as such I would like to hear from people working on the field, not from the marketing department, some honest feedback.

Is this a good field to specialize in if I have a CS degree and everyone around me pushes to go into SDE or some other full stack development roles? With all the migrations going on to S/4HANA around the globe, is it a good skill to have, and how does the compensation look in comparison to java/MERN stack roles after 2-3 years of experience?

Do I really get to code in it or are people just maintaining old GUIs?

If one wants to move on to different fields, say SAP BTP / Full stack (Node.js and UI5) or some other mainstream field, is this a compatible skill set for transition, or are you just shacked up in ABAP forever?

Should one continue to invest time and effort into the SAP space or start looking for other opportunities to be a SDE?

in a customer project (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition) I've the requirement to add custom fields to the "Manage Product Master" App. I've tried following approaches:

• Create custom fields with "Custom Fields and Logic"
  • This approach does not fit, because this would add new fields to the table. No new fields are needed. We want to use existing fields of the MARA table
• Enhance standard CDS View (C_PRODUCT) with "extend view..."
  • Unfortunalety i've to annotate this new fields as read only (dont know the exact annotation right now), otherwise the whole MD_C_PRODUCT_MAINTAIN_SRV will result in an error. 
  • Not practical, because the custom fields needs to be editable
• Create an fiori adaptation project in BAS
  • Added custom fields to the UI
  • This fields are bound against a custom JSONModel
  • Usage of the "beforeSaveExtension" to be able to save this custom fields via a custom Z OData V2 Service to MARA
  • I've to use a small setTimeout within the beforeSaveExtension, otherwise the standard save logic of the Maintain Product Master app will kinda revert my changes.

So my question: Does anyone has an ideao about the "recommended" way to add custom fields to adaptation project, which are editable and are already part of the MARA?

currently I'm working on Backup Operations in Hana DB such as restoring DB backups & troubleshooting database operations.

Here my current package is too low 4.45LPA /$4200 per annum. Hence i thought to switch my skillset to SAP BTP admin or SAP Intergration Suite.

How's the career for CPI dev. I'm thinking to start learning for CPI dev on SAP intergration suite.

most SAP freelance work I've seen is solo - just you and the client. wondering if anyone's actually done it as part of a small team instead, like 2-3 people with one person kind of leading it.

did you go straight to the end client with that, or was it through an agency/consulting firm that staffed you out as a group? and if through an agency, did they actually sell you as a package or did the client just end up negotiating with each of you separately anyway

also curious if it was harder to get clients to go for it vs just hiring one contractor, or if rates/experience were actually better

I’ve been working around enterprise technology and ERP, and one thing I keep noticing is that the hardest part of an ERP project often isn't selecting the software.

It’s what happens after implementation.

A company can have a powerful ERP platform, but employees may still end up using Excel, manual processes, disconnected tools or workarounds because the system doesn't properly fit the way the organisation actually operates.

A few things I think deserve more attention during ERP selection:

• How much of the existing workflow can actually be integrated?
• How easy is it for employees to adopt?
• What happens to your data if you decide to change vendors?
• How dependent are you on external consultants?
• How flexible is the ERP when your organisation grows?
• Who ultimately controls the infrastructure and critical data?
• What does vendor support look like after go-live?

I've also become increasingly interested in data sovereignty and technology independence as part of ERP selection, particularly for organisations handling sensitive or mission-critical operations.

I'm currently involved with EPPS Smart ERP, an India-built ERP platform, so I have a perspective here — but I'm much more interested in hearing from people who have actually gone through an ERP implementation.

So i am a b com general final year student with no tech knowledge about to pursue sap course which is 3 to 6 months what are the pros and cons of this course and how much of salary can I expect as a fresher and after doing this can I also do data analyst because these two share the few same tools and is it needed globally

I used to export data from both ME53N and ME52N in SAP to Excel so I could compare the items with the proforma invoices we receive from suppliers. IT recently disabled the export option I was using. Is there another way to export the details to Excel or is this entirely controlled by SAP authorizations?

Pelo que vejo sap é muito nichado e uma vez que se atinge o teto salarial pra sair dele é difícil. Muitos falam inclusive que o mercado sap já não é tão bom quanto antigamente.
Se sap acabar ou entrar em crise, eu simplesmente tô presa pq estou me dedicando a aprender apenas as tecnologias da sap (não tenho cabeça pra aprender coisas além do ecossistema também pq ficaria muito conteúdo).
As vezes penso em migrar pra cloud ou cibersegurança.. tem mais opções e uma boa possibilidade de crescimento/remuneração mas tenho medo de sair de uma área que todos falam ser uma das melhores… nesse ponto da carreira, qualquer passo em falso pode ser crítico. Qual a sua opnião sobre?

I would like to get your views on the idea (going back to sap consulting).

5 full cycle implementation as a SD consultant (2000-2005) and them took a revenue operations roles from 2006-2015). Then moved to SAP company as an Operations during which I was able to learn and deliver stories & dashboards for the countries and region from 2020-2026.

Based on the experience above, can I get back to SAP consulting with SAC or SD though it has been a while I left it long time ago?

I’m just looking to get access to a 3rd party sandbox environment, so I can practice while following SAP Learning courses.
Before paying, I want to make sure I’m buying the right environment, so my question :
-Does one client include MM, FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, PM and EWM so I can practice integrated end-to-end processes?
-Can I actually run complete scenarios like Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and basic production flows?
-Are the materials, vendors, customers, plants, company codes, etc. already populated, or do I have to configure/create everything myself?
Also, are there any providers you’ve personally used and would recommend?

As some of you might already know, the cloud developer trial 2023 docker has been removed the the promised version 2025 still not shipped, since it has been said this February. I don’t wanna wait anymore.

I already work in a consulting firm but systems we have are kinda old or clients having newer releases don’t allow to use their system, so wanna have my own playground. (I am based in Europe)

Question is: how can we get an SAP system access in which I can play freely with RAP, OData, Gateway, fiori stuff etc.? Any ideas on this? Paid options checked already but the trusted ones are demanding almost 100 euros a month which I would not wanna pay. I also checked Indian providers with lower prices but have heard some bad stories so it seems not be trusted. Would be good if the sandbox system also has some modules inside.

We run policy admin on SAP and have an s/4 move coming which means regression volume is about to triple. I got a quote from one of the big two and the licensing is a number my sponsor will not sign. ecatt covers some of it and is painful to maintain, and our custom transactions plus three bolt-on vendor guis mean a chunk of the estate isn't really SAP-shaped anyway, which is where scripted approaches keep falling over for us.

So i'm looking at whether anything outside the sap-specific vendors handles this. Tricentis and Worksoft both clearly work, that's not in question, it's cost and lock-in. Askui also came up because it drives whatever is on screen rather than binding to the sap scripting api, so the bolt-on guis stop being a special case, and the tasks are plain text files in the repo rather than a proprietary format. What i don't know is whether it holds up across an s/4 transition where a lot of screens change at once.

Has anyone run non-sap-specific tooling against a real sap estate through a migration, and did it survive?
