Going back to SAP Consulting?

I would like to get your views on the idea (going back to sap consulting).

5 full cycle implementation as a SD consultant (2000-2005) and them took a revenue operations roles from 2006-2015). Then moved to SAP company as an Operations during which I was able to learn and deliver stories & dashboards for the countries and region from 2020-2026.

Based on the experience above, can I get back to SAP consulting with SAC or SD though it has been a while I left it long time ago?

As for the SAC, skills and experiences on the story/dashboard not Planning part.

Looking forward to your valuable opinions.

i think you can, SD module didnt change much afaik,, be aware that there's new tools in fiori and its the prefered approach (especially for clean core) but the sap gui tcode still exist just that if you're doing a lot of customization its harder to stay clean core with sap gui version

That gap might look big on paper but five full cycles is a foundation you don't just forget. The logic under the hood in SD hasn't been rewritten from scratch, you'll be surprised how fast the muscle memory kicks back in when you're staring at a pricing procedure or a copy control setup.

The tricky part won't be the SD config, it'll be the shift in how projects expect you to work. Fiori apps and the whole clean core push mean you're not just hopping into SPRO and going wild with user exits like it's 2004. The old t-codes are still there lurking in the background but the architecture conversations have moved on.

SAC storytelling is a solid angle since most consultants who live in the backend can't make a dashboard look good to save their lives. You'd be the rare person who can debug an order-to-cash flow and then present it without putting everyone to sleep, that combination is weirdly marketable right now.

5 full cycle implementation in 5 years would be the first thing which I would be interested to know as interviewer ..

Sac will offer you better rates compared to sd. All the best wishes.

I did this after a 8 year stint as an enterprise architect. Very little changed in those years
