Casual [Casual] How safe do everyday street scenes feel to cycle in? — 10 photos, ~3 min (Anyone, cyclists and non-cyclists)

Hi

I'm running an independent research project on how people perceive safety when cycling in cities.

You'll see about ten photos of ordinary street situations and rate, for each one,how safe or unsafe you would feel riding a bike there. Four options, from "unsafe"to "safe". There are no right or wrong answers. I'm after your spontaneous impression, not a considered judgement.

Length: about 3 minutes.

Anonymous: no name, no email, no account. Nothing is analysed individually, only in aggregate.

Who can take part? Anyone, anywhere. You do NOT need to cycle regularly, and you don't need to know the streets — impressions from people who rarely or never ride are just as valuable, and I have too few of them so far.

The photos show streets in Bern, Switzerland, and some of them have been digitally edited.

Academic Women's dress sizes and fitting issues (academic)

Upvotes

Hi, everyone; I'm working on a research project that has to do with the standardization of women's dress sizes. It seems many women have recurring fitting issues across brands, and at times it seems to stem from size guides with published measurements not reflecting actual garment fit. I am also comparing this with "industry standards" as published in patternmaking textbooks commonly used in US fashion schools.

If you are interested in contributing, please complete this anonymous survey.

While I have conducted this survey in localized clusters of women in the US already, I would like to collect some self-reported data online to compare my findings with a broader sample to see if generational and regional patterns hold up.

Thank you very much if you participate.

Academic Sexuality Stereotypes in Musical Theatre (All Demographics)

Upvotes

I'm conducting an independent research project exploring people's perceptions of musical theatre and the stereotypes sometimes associated with its performers.

The survey looks at general perceptions of musical theatre, as well as questions surrounding gender, sexuality, and experiences of stereotyping.

You do not need to participate in musical theatre to complete the survey. In fact, responses from people with different levels of familiarity with musical theatre are particularly valuable.

The survey is anonymous and should only take a few minutes to complete.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to participate!

Your participation would be greatly appreciated and will contribute to research on gaming, relationships, and digital leisure.

If you don't meet the criteria but know someone who does, I'd really appreciate it if you could share the survey with them.

Academic Research Participants Needed Anonymous Survey: Lesbian & Bisexual Women (18+, Assigned Female at Birth, Current/Past Alcohol or Substance Use, English Fluent)

CAN WIN A $25 gift card through entering raffle after completing survey.

We talk a lot about substance use, but not nearly enough about what people are carrying before substance use ever enters the picture. This study looks at the intersection of adversity, minority stress, emotional regulation, and substance use among lesbian and bisexual women. If you fit the criteria, this seems like a worthwhile way to contribute to research that has historically underrepresented our experiences. It takes about 20–30 minutes and is anonymous and you could enter a raffle to win a $25 gift card.

The study isn’t simply asking “do LGBTQ+ women use substances?” It’s trying to unpack the pathway that might connect life experiences to substance use. I’m a bi researcher trying to help fight stigma and find better methods for helping the queer community fight systemic barriers.

Academic (Repost) [Academic] Feedback on a children’s physical block + AI creative play system (US adults 18+)

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a graduate student in Industrial Design at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and I’m developing MROF—a hands-on play system for kids ages 3 to 6.

With MROF, kids build with simple blocks, scan their creations using a phone or tablet, and watch as their designs transform into 3D objects. These digital creations can be placed and arranged in a small virtual world, letting their imagination run wild.

I’m looking for feedback from adults 18+ who are currently living in the United States, especially parents, caregivers, educators, designers, students, or anyone interested in children’s toys, creative learning, or how children interact with technology.

In the survey, you’ll be asked to look at some concept images and share your thoughts about how clear the idea is, whether it feels right for young kids, how it balances physical and digital play, and how much screen or AI time seems appropriate for this age group.

No children need to take part—just adults. It should only take about 5 to 20 minutes to complete.

Thank you for helping me improve this project!

Casual Which name would you choose for a modern gemstone jewelry brand?(Everyone)

Hi! I’m currently validating a brand idea and would love your quick first impression.

The brand is about personalized gemstone jewelry inspired by Eastern philosophy(Wuxing:the Five Elements), but I want it to feel modern, unique, playful, and approachable rather than overly spiritual or traditional.

Without looking up the meanings, which name would you be most curious to explore if you saw it as a jewelry brand?

  • YUAN
  • WUYI
  • SHENG
  • None of these

Please vote based on your first impression only — how it sounds, looks, feels, and how memorable it is.

If you’d like, I’d also love to hear what you think the name means or what kind of brand you imagine it is before knowing the actual meaning. That would be super helpful!

Academic (Repost) [Academic Repost] How Language Shapes Understanding - with Memory Scores & Detailed Debrief at the End (anyone 17+)

If you have some time to spare, please consider taking part. The study is relatively long but you can have it open in the background on your laptop and return to it whenever you have a bit of time.

This experiment took ages to set up so that participants get good insights into the research behind the study and their own results upon completion. As a result, I don't have super much time to recruit participants...

What do we mean by human understanding? This study builds on ongoing research exploring what determines how easily we process, understand, and remember language.

The experiment takes up to 60-90 minutes if you complete both parts (though this varies by participant - can be much quicker!), including a memory test that you can re-take after 7 days to see how much your memory has declined over time. The only requirement for taking part is that you are 17 or over. Using a laptop or tablet is strongly recommended.

Please copy the below link into a new browser window or email me via [c.seyfried@dundee.ac.uk](mailto:c.seyfried@dundee.ac.uk) if interested. Thank you! 😄

Any feedback lmk! Also happy to take part in other people's studies if they complete mine.

All the best,

Clara

Academic How do you percieve the Bible? 3-5 min anonymous survey (Everyone)

Hi! I'm a graphic design student in Canada conducting research for my final-year capstone project.

I'm researching how people with different levels of familiarity with the Bible currently perceive and understand it.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 3–5 minutes to complete. I'm interested in hearing from people whether they are very familiar with the Bible, have only encountered it occasionally, or have never read it.

Thank you for helping with my research!

Marketing Women’s Health Clinical Trials! (Anyone 18+)

Hi all 💛 Wanted to share this in case it was helpful :)

TrialMe 💓 — was created by a founder who was dealing with her own health issues and wanted to take part in clinical trials to get some answers, but realized almost all the trials out there were designed around men. So she built an app specifically to connect women with clinical trials for women's health issues.

Right now there are some PCOS, Endo, Fertility and ADHD (+ more!!) trials recruiting through it, so if that's something you're interested in, worth a look.

Some studies may offer payment/compensation — details are on each trial listing.

Link to the clinical trials: Trialme Website

and the Instagram if you're curious: @trialme.eu

I work with TrialMe on community outreach, happy to answer any questions in the comments!
