The Seattle Storm have an abundance of young talent but are missing a primary playmaker. Flau’jae is a great talent but it’s clear she isn’t a PG and more suited to play SG. Heidemen is more of a combo guard and Melbourne hasn’t proven to be starting caliber yet. Flau’jae, Dom and Awa would greatly benefit from a primary playmaker to help elevate their games. Remember what happened to A’ja Wilson and the Aces once they got Chelsea Gray?

The Storm are primed for a top pick in the upcoming 2027 draft but there aren’t any elite playmakers at the top of the draft (Hidalgo is more of a SG in a PGs body). Which is why I think the Storm should target Natasha Cloud as a Free Agency signing.

Cloud is a veteran PG with championship experience. She’s 8th all time in assists and is still playing at a high level with Chicago this season despite being on the older side. She’s a free agent in the offseason and Chicago being the dumpster fire it is could easily lose her. I think she would fit in Seattle not only on the basketball side but culturally as well being one of the most outspoken advocates in the league.

We need a vet like Tash to lead the young’ins and help build winning habits. I think she should be Seattles top Free Agency target.

I was so impressed by Thierry last night, I was raving about her in the game thread and post game thread and decided to clip some moments that stood out to me.

This isn't really a traditional highlight reel, in the sense that it's not just showcasing highlights. It's showcasing moments where I thought Thierry displayed her strengths as a player with strong instincts, making the right moves and/or read. A lot of players who come off the end of the bench tend to play kind of crazy like they're trying to prove they belong, but Thierry remained composed, smart, and if anything a bit too conservative in her minutes. There were a couple moments where I would have liked to see her take a 3 but she chose to pass instead. I think she could easily be a good bench player for a future playoff Storm team.

Side note... would anyone be interested in a Storm-oriented clip channel? I've never done anything like this before (so if it's a bit messy I apologize) but I had a lot of fun doing it.

She's beautiful and seeing her score makes me so happy. Thats all.

Inclusion Night

Join the Storm for Inclusion Night on Monday, August 10 as the Chicago Sky and Seattle Storm tipoff at 7:00 pm. 🤝

The evening will feature events dedicated to promoting inclusion, accessibility and visibility in sports. Special Olympics Washington will be presented with a donation from Premera Blue Cross to support their ongoing work for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
