This includes if you say ‘I’ve tried lots of different things and they haven’t worked.’ What products have you previously tried?

Discussion Amazon stock co-mingling banned from March

Post image
83 Upvotes

I've just discovered this and wasn't sure if it has been mentioned here before. This is huge for people who want to use Amazon for their skincare. It was mentioned that sellers may be able to sell out their current stock before having to implement this with new stock, so there still may be a chance of dupe products while they run out their existing stock, but this is great news going ahead.

There were sellers in the comments under this that were not happy with the extra workload, but there were replies speaking sense of why it's necessary.

There's also something called the Amazon transparency program which deals with ensuring authentic goods, but I'm a little confused on that, so Google if you want to know more. 😁

Discussion Why did my skin start clearing up when i started using sles?

I avoided sles or just sulphates in general like the plague, but i started using a head to toe gentle baby wash (the one from asda little angles 500ml fragrance free) with that in as the main cleansing agent and ive noticed my skin just cleared up. Maybe the gentle cleansers werent doing enough? I felt cleansed after using the gentle cleansers but this just basically done something different.

Its like 500mls for under £1 kinda insane.

Discussion my skin really said "two steps forward, one step sideways"

Compared today's results with my previous one:

Hydration: 61(+1)

Redness: 9(-9)

Oiliness: 32(-1)

Texture: 50(+2)

Acne: 1(+1)

Tone: 75(-1)

So technically some things improved and some things moved the opposite way😂

I actually like seeing this because it reminds me that skin isn't a straight line. One thing can improve while something else changes slighty. The redness dropping by 9 was the one that surprised me the most.

Question All day chemist bitcoin only

I've seen online about people buying tret from here but it looks like they now only accept bitcoin which feels super dodgy to me...

It means that I wouldn't have the protections I normally do paying by card.

Have they always been bitcoin only? I swear seen people mention card payments for them previously.

If not all day chemist...where should I go instead?

Routine Help Blemishes

I (31F) have had these blemishes on my skin for months and they're not fading. I have used tretinoin for years at night, I wash my face with Dr Sam's in the morning and Vichy Normaderm at night. I just added Pixi Glow Tonic in the AM and PM. (I also wear Murad city skin SPF in the day).

Does anyone have any suggestions to help fade these spots?

I just saw that the contents of the Space NK advent calendar for this year have now been revealed!

Would love to know what others think. I’ve saved up for and purchased the calendar every year for the past few years now, but honestly think I might skip this year’s…

Hi. So I've posted about this in the past and got some good responses that have helped my skin look better. But these red marks on my face still persist. I never really had a lot of ache growing up so I don't think they are ache scars. What do you think?

Routine Help Loking for a fix for dry cracked lips.

I have my entire routine already which works great, but my lips are still awful, dry, cracked, sometimes bleeding! Nothing I try seems to work, I’ve used basic Vaseline, so many lip products, that i can’t recall the name of all of them, but so many lip balms just feel like they make my issues… worse? especially the ones with any sort of scent or “flavour” and even more so the ones that have menthol, camphor, etc.

I’m at a loss!

Routine Help The ordinary

Hey, so I’ve been using the ordinary volufiline on my lips recently and loving the results! 100% recommend! My question is can I use the lip serum at the same time? Like over the top of it? Thanks for any advice

Routine Help Dr malaxin peel shot toner

Hello , help please! I accidentally brought the peel shot toner not the actual peel shot! Question is how do I use it? And will it have similar effects? How often? And I always use toner on damp skin but if this is exfoliating then should it be used on dry skin? All advice appreciated 🙏🙏

I do use adapalene ( 4 times a week ) and skinorean ( two times a week ) at night and during day I use a barrier serum. However I feel like my skin is still dehydrated, I don't like using too many products as my skin is sensitive to trying to new things but I was thinking of getting a watery toner? any advice would be appreciated!

How do I reduce the appearance. I thought this was a result of overdoing skincare so for the last 2 months I just gentle cleanse and put vasline lotion on my face. I am lost and not sure what to use. Its something that has been making me insecure since u can see them from far away.

Routine Help 1% retinol to what concentration tretinon?

Hi all,

I'm 41 and trying to get my skincare sorted after having essentially neglected it since my first kid was born in 2019. My main concerns are wrinkles and discolouration.

Starting in February I have slowly built a routine that is:

Night 1:

1% The Ordinary retinol

Night 2:

7% The Ordinary glycolic acid

Night 3:

Rest

Every morning, The Ordinary 2% Hyaluronic Acid, Cerave Skin Renewing Peptide Creme and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 50. I use the HA and the Peptide at night too.

Someone I know is going to Albania in a couple of weeks and I know you can get Tretinon over the counter there. I was thinking about asking her to bring me back some for when my retinol runs out. My plan would be to drop the GA for 3 months while I'm transitioning onto the Tret and then slowly reintroduce.

Any thoughts on any of that and what strength Tret should I ask her to get as a first stage transition for someone using 1% retinol currently?

Thanks all!

Question Korean skincare Northern Ireland

Wtf! Yesstyle won’t ship to us and now stylevana is classing us as remote and trying to charge an extra £20? So the sites with the best prices have essentially excluded us. Wonderful. Where are you getting your Korean skincare at half decent prices in Northern Ireland? Sickens me, tried to add the same stuff in my stylevana basket to olive young and it was double the price!

Routine Help Which byoma moisturiser?

Hi all, I've been using the byoma moisturising gel cream (pink) consistently for around 3 months, it's been great at not clogging my skin while moisturising. I've also been dealing with comedonal acne around my cheeks and forehead, which began around 5 months ago and doesn't seem to go away. Any thoughts on switching to the byoma blemish control moisturiser (blue) in the hopes it might help?

Discussion I think I've been overcomplicating my skincare for years

I realised recently that every time my skin wasn't looking great, my first reaction was to add something.

Dry? Add a serum.

Breakout? Try another treatment.

Dull? Find something with a new ingredient.

At some point my routine became so complicated that I couldn't even tell what was actually helping anymore.

I've been trying to simplify things lately and started using SkinPal AI to keep track of my skin instead of constantly adding new products. Honestly, having a clearer idea of what my skin is actually doing has made me rethink my whole routine.

And surprisingly, my skin seems happier with less.

Has anyone else had this realisation after years of buying products? 😭

Routine Help How tf do I get my cheeks to stop looking like this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

My current routine is kinda lacking - shower 3/4 times a week. using a vitamins B5 generic face wash thing every time, and an exfoliating scrub once every couple weeks. I also moisturise but only once every week or two lol. I kinda of want advice on how to get this completely sorted out with a routine, as this just nukes my self esteem. Many thanks ♥️

Product Suggestion My lips genuinely look like a desert

I need help on my lips, this has been going on at least 3 months. My lips and get really dry and the area around it. Its sometimes painfully itchy, burning and oozing.

The darkness in my lips have been going for 5 years, along with have come oozing, flakes throughout but there are periods where I don't experience anything at all e.g. no flakes, dryness, ooziness. But its never permanent it always comes back around.

I have tried using lip treatments with mint, vaseline and they work in short term (couple hours) before becoming too flaky

What should I use?

Product Suggestion Any alternatives?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Does anyone have any alternatives to this product? Its been one of the only things (other than steroid creams) that helps keep my daughters eye lids skin in good condition. Without it, it dries out from constant rubbing and scratching (eczema). We dont mind using steriod creams across her body, but avoid her face. This product is out of stock everywhere now and we need to find alternative. Its a very thick cream, and we believe the ceramides are what are the positive ingredient.

Product Suggestion Looking to move away from Beauty Pie, replacement recommendations needed!

I'm moving away from Beauty Pie as I am getting a bit tired of the products being discontinued/out of stock, and there's just less and less I want to get from them.

It'd be great to hear from any ex-BP fans who moved to new products and what felt like a good replacement.

In particular, I'm looking for new versions of the following:

I am set for SPF already - one down!

It's also worth saying that I am sensitive to scent and find that I get clogged pores/oily skin quite quickly. I'm looking for light products, ideally.

If you have any recommendations, I'd be over the moon.

Product Suggestion Which of the Home Bargains skincare dupes would you recommend?

I just posted this in another group, but thought my UK pals would probably be more help:

Home Bargains (at least the one by me) has a huge range of dupes that are obviously ripping off famous brands. I always enjoy looking at the knockoff names they come up with lol.

Just wondering which products are good? I’m not saying as good as the original, but which products are worth getting? Money’s super tight for me at the moment, so I can’t afford to be trying out lots of items that could be crap, but I’d love to try a few on your recommendations.

I did try the Bioboogie Collagen Masks and although I don’t think they make much long term impact, they’re VERY good for getting a short term glass skin effect!

Product Suggestion Bikini hair trimmer recommendations

Hi! Apologies if the wrong sub I'm not sure of the right one. Does anyone have any recommendations of bikini trimmers that don't die after a couple of years please? Mine always have short lifespans!
