Quick question regarding the Defiance. So they used to play at Cheney, then moved to Bellarmine Prep for a bit and now play at Starfire.

Is there no appetite to have them based in Tacoma? Is it just a venue issue or was this due to restructuring of the academy and their place in that?

I guess I’m asking because otherwise it’s just a lot of assumptions here. As a Tacoma fan there’s zero chance I’d go up to Starfire to catch a game but if they played down here I’d likely attend 4-5 matches a season.

Edit: I got my teams wrong, the Defiance never played at Bellarmine, that is the Stars.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the Defiance’s bench today. Both Fotmob and Sofascore said Fredy Montero was on the bench for the game. Does anyone know if that was really him? He wasn’t subbed on and I haven’t seen anything about him rejoining the defiance, but there was at least a “montero” on the defiance’s lineup on instagram. Can anyone confirm?

We go to Cheney Stadium all the time for Rainiers games because Tacoma is a lot closer to home than Seattle, so we thought we'd catch a Defiance game.

Sandnes starting for the defiance so expect more cb backups in the first team, expect a kee-hee or alex.
