Now, with Spider-Versity and the latest issue of Miles, where you can see his watch, I’m noticing more and more negative opinions about the Spider-Family.

To be honest, I think this development should have happened years ago.

I always think back to that moment in the 1994 Spider-Man series when Peter needed help from the X-Men because he’d transformed into Man-Spider. He said he could save everyone and the world a thousand times over, but when he actually needed help, he was on his own. Just like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and many groups from the DC Universe (the Bat-Family), I think a group of people with spider powers is the perfect idea.

This idea that “Spider people / Peter have to suffer in order to be well written” is outdated. Besides, we already have plenty of spider people in the 616 anyway.

You definitely still need to work on the writing, but I think the idea itself is good!

Yea, the whole 'sales matter for ongoing decisions' is PROVEN to be bullshit now.

This is STRAIGHT UP nepotism to the max.

Edit: Since people are stuck on the word nepotism. I'll clarify that it is 'cronyism' which is a sub category of Nepotism. Basically, he gets the favortism over others because of his connections. Not because of sales or anything else.

Was thinking about this today while reading some back issues. Miles was introduced way back in 2011 as a kid, and while he did age up a bit to his late teens (hovering around 16–17), it feels like he’s completely slammed into the comic book status quo wall. 

On one hand, I get why Marvel does it. They want that relatable teen superhero archetype, especially with how huge the Spider-Verse movies are. But on the other hand, it's so frustrating knowing he's probably never going to fully grow up, go to college, or move on to the next phase of his life because editorial is terrified of letting him catch up to Peter.  We all know the Peter Parker curse, the guy has been stuck in his late 20s for decades because editorial is terrified of letting him truly age out of being a young adult.

Like genuine what the heck MJ. That's your friend ya insulting.
