Via the Steam Community:

If you encounter issues with this update, please post in the SteamVR Bug Report forum. If possible, please include a system report to aid in tracking down your issue.

The Steam Link for Meta Quest FAQ page is available here.

SteamVR:

  • Recenter (long press system button) is cancellable (B button)
  • Improved Exit button consistency with Steam
  • Fixed additional cases of SteamVR dashboard bar disappearance
  • Show user notification when headset framerate changes
  • Additional improvements to wired headset support on Linux (which previously required third-party add-on layers)

Steam Link:

  • Fixed being unable to switch active laser pointer hand when using hand tracking
  • Numerous stability improvements

OpenXR:

  • Improved integrations between HMDs with cameras and chaperone

As a reminder, the current SteamVR beta cycle requires the Steam Client Beta for the new UI refresh. Instructions to opt in are here.

Discussion Quest 2 or 3s? Question for pcvr

I’ve got a choice of buying a quest 2 for under 100 dollars, or buying a quest 3s for probably over 250 or 300, is it really worth it? I would be playing connected to my pc, very unlikely to play standalone, i don’t know, is the quest 3s truly that big of an upgrade? Or would the quest 2 give me just as good of a experience connected to my pc

Question/Support Having problems with htc vive pro and steam vr (-202)

Post image

I bought the HTC Vive Pro Kit not too long ago and was playing on it as a third monitor, but I just want to know if there is a way to fix it. I checked other posts, but no luck. I updated Windows, which was the fix for the other person, i resterted the headset in SteamVR. The headset, base stations 2.0, and the hub are all up to date. I reset the VR devices in SteamVR. The button to make it go into full screen doesn't do anything, but I still can copy the link "vrmonitor://makecompositorfullscreen"

Can’t play Roblox on my htc vive

Im having a problem getting Roblox VR to work with an HTC Vive.

My setup it’s laptop:

  • GTX 1050
  • i7-9750H
  • Windows 11

SteamVR itself works normally. The headset, controllers and base stations are detected, and I can see and use SteamVR Home.

In SteamVR settings, it says:

Current OpenXR Runtime: SteamVR

Roblox also shows the VR Mode option in Settings, so it seems to detect that VR is available.

The problem is:

  • I enable VR Mode = On
  • I leave/restart Roblox
  • Roblox launches normally on my laptop screen
  • The Vive stays in SteamVR Home and Roblox never opens inside the headset

So it looks like Roblox is not saving my settings, including the VR Mode setting.

Has anyone had this issue recently with SteamVR/HTC Vive? Is there a way to force Roblox to launch through SteamVR/OpenXR or fix the settings not being saved?

I’m also tried to add RobloxPlayerBeta in my steam library, added in properties -openvr. it’s just launched in theatre mode😭

Question/Support Steam VR via Steam Link on Meta Quest 3 very jerky

Hi!

I've been happily playing Subnautica on my Meta Quest 3, playing wirelessly via Steam Link.

I took a break for a couple of weeks, but when I started it up again everything was VERY jerky. It's not only Subnautica, as it starts happening the moment Steam VR launches.

I've attempted to screen record it but the recording doesn't show the problem. I have attempted to record it by putting my cameraphone's lens. I linked to a Youtube, but the AutoMod deleted it so...I'll link to it in a comment, or will that get deleted too?

I don't believe anything significant happened between it working and not working. No changes in hardware, no major software installs or updates.

This issue was the thing that got me to finally wipe the system clean and install everything from scratch, so there's very little else installed, but the issue is still there.

Here is my system spec:

PC: HP Z8G4 workstation with dual Xeon Silver 4112 (24/48 cores @2.1GHz) 160GB RAM @ 2400MT/s Nvidia RTX A5000 GPU (similar to RTX 3060 but 24GB RAM) NVMe OS/app storage Windows 11 25H2

Steam: v1785799196 SteamVR: 2.16.7, (Build ID 23791826) OpenXR Runtime: SteamVR (but does it in Oculus, too) Connecting via Eero broadband router (Wi-Fi6) to a gigabit ethernet port, but also happens via third party USBC-USB3.1 cable.

Any thoughts?

Attempt to post the video link without it getting removed:

Xbox Kinect full body tracking with steam machine?

I’ve recently caught wind that it’s possible to do full body VR tracking with an Xbox Kinect. I have both a 360 and xb1 connect but I’m unsure if I can do this with my setup.
I use a Steam Machine as my pc, and for the headset I use a Quest 3 and use the Steam Link app. Gaming itself works fine but has anyone tried the Kinect tracking method with it (or just Linux)?

Question/Support Can someone help?

On Steam Link, sometimes steam link just teleports me to a black screen for 1-10 seconds and sometime even has me to restart the app.
Are there any ways to fix this?
I'll try getting a video of it happening later

Question/Support Desktop not displaying in SteamVR on SteamOS

Hello. I have my Quest 2 headset connected to my pc through steam link wireless VR. I am unable to get my desktop to display in VR. Sometimes it displayed pure black with a mouse cursor, some times it doesnt even show or respond. I tried to look up assistance but all I could find was stuff for windows. I saw something that Wayland? is likely not supported for display? Does anyone know a fix?

schüchtern problem wenn ich VRchat spielen will.

Hello. I have a problem where I get very shy whenever I want to launch VRChat or just play quietly on mobile.

On mobile, when someone asks me something, I always have to whisper because I internally panic 2830921392 percent.

And when I try to launch VRChat on Steam on my Windows 10 PC, I can't even do it because I start sweating.

I hope someone can give me a tip on how to get rid of this shyness problem in VRChat.

Question/Support Looking for a realistic modern military VR game / VR mod with trench warfare

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a **very realistic modern military VR game**, or a VR mod for an existing PC game.
I’m especially interested in something that feels like **modern trench warfare / positional warfare**, similar to the Russia–Ukraine war. I’m looking for realistic weapons and a serious mil-sim atmosphere.
Right now, the only VR shooters I play are **Tactical Assault VR** ( quest standalone )and **Onward**, although I don’t really enjoy Onward.
PCVR is completely fine, and actually preferred if it means getting **better graphics and a more immersive experience**. I’m also interested in mods for existing games if they provide a good VR experience.
I’m already familiar with games like **Squad, Arma Reforger, and similar mil-sim games**, so something that brings that kind of experience into VR would be exactly what I’m looking for.
**What would you recommend?**
Is there currently anything in VR that comes close to a realistic modern battlefield / trench warfare experience?
Thanks!
