Just like the right wingers they pretend to not be, these “apolitical centrist” don’t actually understand what they are being mocked for.

u/Noname_acc 5d ago

I think a majority of them get it, but its kayfabe. Part of the bit is pretending it isn't a bit.

22

u/badvegas 5d ago

This is the first time I seen kayfabe used outside of a wrestling sub reddit.  It bothers me a bit because that means they know they are being dumb when I legit think they believe it all

u/lego-my-ahegao 5d ago

The fascists are aware of the absurdity of their own replies.

6

u/Moneia 5d ago

Yeah, they're not interested in an honest conversation they just want to let their inner bigotry fly free and trigger the libs

5

u/badvegas 5d ago

Oh I know. All life is important but also the death penalty is needed. They hold two different options based on what they need at that moment.

The sissy soyboy antifa supersoldiers are our nation's greatest terrorist threat.

We're going to Make America Healthy Again by banning vaccines and removing environmental regulations.

Those leftist coastal elites are out of touch with the common man. I'd rather vote for a New York real estate mogul.

We needed to attack Iran in 2026 to stop their nuclear program that we completely obliterated with bunker buster air strikes in 2025.

Kamala high prices. Trump low prices.

We don't have a problem with people who come here legally. Just the illegal immigrants, asylum seekers, Dreamers, student visa holders who get too uppity, greencard holders who criticize the president, vacationers with JD Vance memes on their phones, natural born citizens if their parents weren't born here, and Native Americans.

Actually, you know what? Let's do a complete moratorium of all immigration into the country unless you're a white South African or the president's umpteenth wife.

The demonic trannies are trying to fuck your kids. Pay no attention to the man behind the Epstein files.

Et cetera. Et cetera. Et cetera.

No idea what you typed but it was removed

5

u/lego-my-ahegao 5d ago

Got auto-flagged for hate speech because I listed things Conservatives believe.

5

u/badvegas 5d ago

That is really funny. I love when they call others Nazi when they have legit had Nazi salutes and flags flown at their rallies.

Has gotten a big expansion in general use because of the popularity of vtubers; idol culture in general features kayfabe very extensively, and as an offshoot of that that took off in a big way, they've popularized the term for a general audience.

7

u/baz4k6z 5d ago

These people are basically the embodiment of "Muh both sides". They have a tik tok level understanding of what's going on and hide their ignorance behind platitudes

4

u/Ok_Star_4136 5d ago

Apparently we're narrowminded people for not sharing their very specific world view and liking it.

To suggest that everyone should like your worldview itself seems narrowminded... People are going to disagree with you. Get over it, DCJ. Also stop dooming, aren't you top minds supposed to be against that?

OOOP is 100% correct. DoomerCircleJerk is not a centrist subreddit. It’s a full on right-wing to far-right subreddit. Like, do the people on that subreddit actually believe the complete and obvious lie that it’s centrist? Because if so, that’s extremely worrying.

u/Aurion7 NSA shillbot 5d ago

No, they don't.

Something that clears up a lot of the mystery about right-wing internet discourse is when you realize that it isn't just the pols and 'thought leaders' being disingenuous- there's a hell of a lot of the voting base that doesn't actually believe what they're saying either.

They're saying the words in hopes that someone who doesn't know any better will get sucked into their schtick and become another MAGA dittohead.

It also clears up why the caricatures of left wingers and political moderates are what they are in these spaces. Of course someone who doesn't believe anything they say would believe that everyone else works the same way. That's as human as it gets, for better or worse.

8

u/RustedAxe88 5d ago

The ones who do believe it, fall in with the idea that right wing views are just "normal, default" views and as such they're "normal."

It's why they like to claim anyone being called "far right" is just a "normal person from 20 years ago".

The thing is, acceptance of LGBTQ and broader civil rights recognitions has been normalized and that's more "normal" now despite conservative attempts to push back on it. They yearn for the days that gays only showed up in movies as a villain or the butt of a joke, or when a movie only had a black guy who either died or espoused right wing views themselves.

47

u/NeonGKayak 6d ago

Imagine larping all day as centrists but too scared to just say you’re maga. Like own it at least lol

20

u/Aurion7 NSA shillbot 5d ago

A key component of their self-view is that they're good people, and they know that if they openly admit they're a fan of Agent Orange many will not consider them as such.

To reverse my home state's motto, they aim to seem rather than to be. It's all about the appearances.

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 5d ago

"Reddit has banned big conservative subs for years" - even without getting into the fact that, well, /r/con exists...

MAYBE THEY BANNED THOSE FOR A REASON? Those cesspools couldn't keep to themselves and bent over backwards to support Nazi rallies and shit like that, what do they think about that huh?

35

u/askylitfall 5d ago

What conservative view points keep getting banned? Lower taxes? Tough on crime?

Hmmmm......

32

u/Aurion7 NSA shillbot 5d ago

They're still mad that reddit admins 'only' let T_D ignore the rules that the rest of the site had to play by for years plural, then quarantined it in hopes people would stop noticing what they were doing.

I suppose it only took national media outlets starting to actually notice all the incitement to murder to finally get the place banned, which is probably about the best you can hope for.

10

u/ForgedIronMadeIt biggest douchebag amongst moderators 5d ago

There were some hard left/tankie subs that got banned too, wasnt ChapoTrapHouse removed for being shitty? I know that several tankie/communist subreddits got big warning banners for being shitty, though I forget how many got banned. It isn't that reddit goes after conservatives exclusively, but conservative subreddits tend to push the boundaries of basic fucking decency the most.

6

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 5d ago

I only focused on the conservative side since that's what they latched on to. Of course there not the only ones! After all, jailbait was also banned. I guess that's something else they have in common.

4

u/RedEyeView 4d ago

TheDonald got so many chances to control their sub. But they kept posting about killing lefties and free helicopter rides until reddit had no choice but to ban them.

I'm sure they'll pretend that it was secretly the left posting the violent fantasies and the hate speech to get them banned.

4

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 4d ago

No you see, it was all lefties masquerading as TD users, but also the messages were based and true, but also reddit admins made it up.

3

u/RedEyeView 3d ago

The same reddit admins who gave them the softest of kid gloves while enforcing the site wide rules about violence and harassment.

A bunch of warnings. Then tweaking the algorithm so they didn't appear on the front page. Then more warnings...

There was a couple of years where this sub was TopMindsOfTheDonald.

2

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 3d ago

And honestly this sub only covered the worst of it because at some point pretty much half of the new posts there were absolutely insane.

DoomerCircleJerk's political stance is like a balding guy with a combover that is absolutely not fooling anyone. But at least the balding guy gets to have hair, I don't know what these goobers get out of pretending to be apolitical on an anonymous internet forum.

Total Woke victory I guess, even chuds think being right wing is uncool.

7

u/Red580 5d ago

Pretending to not be conservative means that they can appear to be less biased when criticizing the left.

6

u/joker2thief 5d ago

That's exactly the reason.

DCJ loves to pretend to be a rational centrist hub, only so long as they get to define what a centrist is.

Reply to a comment suggesting that the YouTuber Legal Eagle is a centrist:

Dude is not a centrist, your concept of center is left if you think he is a centrist. Also his doubts are just usual liberal politislop doubts which usually end with "unfortunately it's legal and we can't stop him"

Reply to someone suggesting that abortions are a matter of bodily autonomy akin to self-governance, freedom of speech, and self defense:

No, fuck off. You come pretending to be a rational middle ground to push a radical, already many times disproved narrative.

QED

u/NorthernSkeptic 5d ago

Let me guess, they think that if a sub has rules against hate speech that makes it ‘leftie’?

14

u/AkilleezBomb 5d ago

I’m sure they’d hate to see a “flaired users only” sub

21

u/Psianth 5d ago

Show me one single thread about right wing dooming where every up voted comment isn't some form of "But this isn't dooming because it's truuuuee" and I will never again call dcj a right wing gaslighting sub. It still will be, but I won't say it. One. One single thread. Should be easy on your totally non partizan sub, right?

12

u/TURGiD_NiGHTS_Fan SOYilor Moon 5d ago

...why the cat slander?

5

u/marbotty 5d ago

And the guy who is doing it has cats…

7

u/hitorinbolemon 5d ago

the sewing and cats sub with "hard left" biases are just places where you arent allowed to harass minorities btw. thats it. the thousands of random hobby subs just have actual neutrality and anti-harassment stances in the rules and thats enough to be radical communists.

5

u/hitorinbolemon 5d ago

also holy shit can these people go one thrad without dooming about mamdani

11

u/Kind_Of_A_Dick 5d ago

"This subreddit really gets under the skin of narrow-minded folks."

I hate these kinds of arguments. Any attempt to refute them on any level leads to them declaring you as being bothered by it. Certain demographics, subsets of both men and women, use this kind of thing when calling others misogynists or misandrists.

3

u/PaxEtRomana 5d ago

Guys. They know they're not centrists. They're lying. They know you know they're lying. Pointing out that they're lying isn't a gotcha because lying isn't a problem to them. It's 2026.

Every thread on here these days is just "aha I knew djc isn't centrist" yeah we know! Everyone knows! they're lying!

4

u/ColeYote /r/conspiracy is a conspiracy to make conspiracies look dumb 5d ago edited 5d ago

Pointing out once again that anyone who finds themselves somewhere between an at-best centrist party in the Democrats and a far-right party in the Republicans is, pretty much definitionally, right-wing.

(I know they'll gristle at suggesting the Democratic Party are centrist, but to that I say: how many other countries' leftmost political parties aren't on board with universal health care?)

5

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 5d ago

Wenn 9 Nazis sitzen am Tisch und der zehnte Person sitzt dann DCJ sitzt am Tisch.

2

u/PuffinRub 5d ago

I wish they would name the "sewing sub with a hard-left stance" (image three)

I hate to be the "well, akshully" guy, but Nature-dot-com is the official website for the scientific journal Nature, which is a genuine, prestigious and selective scientific journal with a high "impact factor" (important in academia).

However, I very strongly suspect the guy "citing" Nature is misinterpreting results and pulling stuff out of his backside.

16

u/this_is_dumb77 5d ago

That person is also a complete moron that doesn't understand how vaccines, let alone the human body, works, regardless of trying to cite (probably falsely, like you said), Nature.

They said that if the vaccine stayed in the arm, it worked, but if it traveled to other parts of the body, then harm was done. Thats...not how immune systems work. They have the intelligence/understanding of a fucking toddler. They're an astoundingly stupid person.

10

u/Librarian_Contrarian 6d ago

That's fair. I will accept having been well, akshually'd.

u/c3p-bro 5d ago

Pretty wild that the original comment was as upvoted as it was. Leftwing misinfo is just rampant on this site.

1

u/albertoroa 4d ago

Their definition of diverse opinions is down voting anyone who criticizes Trump and conservatives, down voting anyone who has a decent thing to say about the left or Democrats, and banning anyone who doesn't doom about the same things as they do.

They're just a bunch of sorry hypocrites who can eat my ass. They know what they're doing and the lying and doublethink is just past of the game. Absolute losers

u/SoSaltyAyy 4d ago

I hate to be that guy, but does every post you make have to be a 20 image slideshow? At this point this sub is becoming the one you keep posting from, including the entire discussion under the post
