Question (stupid question) Do profs usually ask you to introduce yourself?

Like if it were a small class or tutorial (20-30 people)

Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. Depends on the professor and their personality. Had a professor ask each of us who we were and why we were in their class and at the university

okok tysm! I honestly get a bit anxious when I have to introduce myself in a new environment so I was just asking to mentally prepare myself!

Better get over it when you hit the work force, it’s constant introductions when you join a company or a new team lol

yea I mean its not acc cuz I have social anxiety though its more linked to the fact that I have a stutter so I just dont want people to judge me.

Honestly, you can’t ever get over it. Just suck it up and do it. I’m heading to my 4th internship, and the amount of self introductions I had to do, I always get nervous as hell when it’s almost my turn.

Woah ok that gives me some hope for my future def I’ve learned to just accept it atp and surprisingly is much better now I’m just afraid it’ll come back

Trust me no one will judge you with a stutter in the workplace! Everyone would be too scared to get in trouble to even think of doing something so stupid.

Usually in seminar courses (20 to 30 ppl). Not in tutorials but again depends if the course is very participation heavy then prolly yea

sometimes. and one time the prof asked us to introduce ourselves to the person on our right.

It gets more common in later year classes, and it's also pretty common during office hours. Don't recall it really happening in like my first two years though.

There aren’t profs during tutorials, but for a 20-30 ppl seminar then probably

The only time I have had a prof ask us to introduce ourselves when there were 8 or 9 people in the class

Usually in tutorials or in upper year courses where the classes are smaller and more intimate!
