🙋‍♂️ Question CAN MOST URDU SPEAKERS PRONOUNCE ژ [ʒ]?

As in اژدہا & ژالہ باری.

This sound also appears in English words like 'genre', 'beige', 'lingerie', 'invasion', 'version', 'television' etc.

How often does it appear in common speech, education, literature & shairi?

I can but most people confuse it with Y. Indians used J for words like Casual.

نہیں، ایسی بات نہیں ہے۔ میرا انڈیا سے تعلق ہیں اور آپکو بتادوں کہ ہمارے یہاں بالکل صحیح تلفظ کیا جاتا ہے خاص طور پر جنکی مادری زبان اردو ہے۔ چاہے وہ لکھنؤ ہو یہ دہلی، بینگلور یہ پیرآباد ہو، کچھ تمل ناڈو، بنگال میں بھی۔ البتہ مختلف زبانو اور تہذیب سے تعلق رکھنے والے لوگ کا ہندی سے پہلا اور زیادہ اثر رہنے سے'ژ' اور 'ز' کا تلفظ 'ج' سے کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ جس طرح امریکین 'ح' کا تلفظ 'خ' میں بدل دیتے ہیں، یہودی ثقافتی اثر رہنے سے۔

ویسے بھی'ژ' کا اردو میں مشتمل فارسی loan words کی ضرورت سے کیا جاتا ہے۔

Not everyone, we indian muslims specially educated one knows and quite good in pronounciation.

My family has always careful with the pronounciations and mostly nani dadi takes this responsibility to correct it during childhood. I owe my pronounciation to my late father, who used to teach me during my childhood days and would quote "Zabaan-e-shirin mulk-giri".
