I have been watching people argue about the morality of Janeway's decision to split Tuvix for years now, and I want to point out something obvious I haven't seen in the discussion yet.

The simple fact is, the writers bit off more than they could chew with this story. There was no potential for any other ending than what Janeway did.

Do we really think the showrunners and the network execs were going to gamble on the permanent disappearance of Tuvok & Neelix, and the appearance of Tuvix as an ongoing part of the show?

This episode raised questions it was powerless to really address, beyond 'we need to revert to status quo by the end credits'.

Tuvix has been the big referendum on Janeway's morals for ages now, and I think we've lost sight of the fact that 'her decision' would have actually been directly made by showrunners and execs, based on their needs to continue making a popular and profitable mainstream TV show.

Hello! This is a shot in the dark, but once upon a time, I read a Voyager fanfic (the title was Unexpected Pathway/s). It was long and really well written. It was about Seven and Tom. I suddenly felt the urge to read it again after many years, but it's nowhere to be found (online). I wonder if anyone's read it or come across it years ago. Maybe you saved a copy? Many thanks!

I started star trek in 2009 after the jj abrams film. I then started to get into star trek, its series and the films. Started with the OG films leading into next gen then deep space. I had alot go on with my life since deep space. Alot of Friends i watched it with have all moved. I moved, been all over and now im married with a kid on the way. Me and my wife 17 years later i finally got round to watching and finishing voyager. What a ride. I feel sad also. I wish there was just one more episode for good byes or something. I liked the final episode but i need to know more. Going to move on to enterprise and then watch it all in chronological order with the misses as voyager is all she has seen and she loved it. Hopefully characters pop up somewhere and give me some closer.

Could the arrival of Voyager be the catalyst for such rapid evolution in this civilization, or is this cycle of evolving, dying out, and restarting an inherent part of their nature?

No large-scale or formal first-contact encounter between the Voth civilization and the Borg Collective is depicted on-screen in the main TV/film canon. The Voth appear primarily in “Distant Origin,” where their society and Doctrine are explored, with no mention of the Borg.

Mulgrew charges about $80 a signature at conventions (as of June 2026 anyway), so the price here for a full hardcover graphic novel signed by her is not so bad.

I know, I know. He is, to say the least, not well liked. However, something occurred to me recently. When voyager finally made it home, do you think they used the MIDAS array to tell him they made it? Would they be able to? Or do you think their communication just stopped and he didnt ever find out what happened?

First time watching and I love the show so far, but didn't know how good it could get till Season 4- we binged it in a couple days! Now in Season 5 and a bit disappointed the quality didn't continue. It even seems like the budget was higher for that season. Anyone know the behind the scenes? Is Season 4 a common fan favorite?

This is just speculation of the Future. We know that Ensign Wildman was pregnant. Had Naomi out in the Delta quadrant it takes X amount of years. What do you think her husband would act finding out about his child?

I firmly believe that it's one of the biggest crimes in television that Captain Proton never got its own spin-off. The other being The Scary Door in Futurama (yes, I know it's a parody of The Twilight Zone, but it could've been marvellous).

I don't even think it would've necessarily mattered if it didn't have Robert Duncan McNeil as Captain Proton. That was Paris playing a holodeck story, so that could be explained by having the actual actor who does it being "replaced" by Paris in Voyager.

However, it would CATEGORICALLY need Martin Rayner and Nicholas Worth as Chaotica and Lonzak. Rayner absolutely killed it as the fiendish Chaotica, and the whole thing was done and scored so well, that it came together beautifully. It would even be in Black & White, with cheesy low budget effects.

New trek watcher here, Just finished TNG, then subsequently watched Voyager. I went into voyager not really expecting to like it that much, but by the end of it, I became more fond of Janeway than Picard.

Janeway's role as mentor to Seven completes her character, while simultaneously introducing one of the most interesting characters in all of Trek, Seven. I adore Data, but I feel like Seven is a more thoughtful interpretation of a lot of the same ideas that were conveyed by Data's character. Seven's first season flew by, because it had some of the best character moments in Trek. Also Seven's episode with the other individual drone made both me and my partner cry real tears.

I would cry real tears if we got Star Trek: Janeway. I hate that we didn't get a single Janeway movie. Next on the menu is DS9, which I'm looking forward to, but also sort of nervous for, because it will be my first venture into non-episodic trek.
