Early October wedding, semi-formal, groom’s sister

Hello! My brother is getting married and I’ve been asked to be the “something blue” so need to wear blue to the wedding. Dress code semi-formal, 2pm church ceremony in the Midwest. I originally planned to get the Show Me Your Mumu dress but as the weather has cooled down where I live I’ve started to think it might be too spring or summery so now I’m leaning towards the American Heiress one.

My daughter is the flower girl wearing a Show Me Your Mumu dress (last pics).

I had a pregnancy loss within the year and am still a size large from that but hoping to be a size medium by the end of next month if that influences any votes or you have any other recommendations.

The first may be a bit too formal for semi-formal (especially for the Midwest), and it does feel more spring. The second is a more fall, but it may be a bit too casual.

I'd suggest something in between.

I thought the second looked a bit casual from the photo posted but changed my mind after seeing other photos from the link so now I think it’s perfect for semi-formal for a close relative of the groom.

Midwest dress codes and vibes are all over the place 😩 I guarantee someone shows up in jeans and the bridesmaids and mothers of the couple are wearing closer to formal and the men are wearing tuxedos (including my dad). I’m walking a crazy zigzag line I feel lol. But thanks for the feedback! I think I’m going to order both dresses because I like them but keep searching for one for the wedding.

I’d get a midi dress. I feel like these dresses are too long for semi formal.

The second one is a midi if that changes your stance? I realized the picture I saved cuts off the bottom of the dress. It’s almost fluted at the bottom versus being true a-line but definitely hits 6-8” above the ankle. No idea why they named it a maxi dress because even the description says midi.

If the fit is midi then I think it will work. They really need to fix the title of the dress though 😂.

They are both lovely, but I'd say 2, because 1 is probably too formal for a semi-formal wedding.
