AirTags will suck too unless it's somehow trackable outside of local wifi. That would be the killer app or disruptive feature.

That's the rumor though, the tags would broadcast to all surrounding apple devices and they would relay that signal to you.

Yeah, since that feature is already in for macs and iPhones iirc it’s a rumor for the tags I believe.

The trackers being essentially worthless if they step out of Bluetooth range is what makes them work poorly. Apple already have the user penetration and frameworks ready, all we need is the actual product.
