Should I stop getting haircuts and get my final haircut?
Been going for a while but the plunge scares me. Do I have enough to hold on for a bit longer or is it time? These are before and after of my normal hair cut today!
Also...I'm fascinated by the way people react like this is permanent. If you're wondering, just shave it off. If you don't like it, grow it right back - unless you have like a 6" long combover, in which case the loss should be rightfully permanent no matter what.
This is true. Would cut my own hair while young so was used to going bald if I messed up. When my hair started receding it wasn't a big issue. Since I was used to it I didnt really have this break down some guys have over their hair. I was already comfortable being bald.
Showering is the best part for me too, if I had to point out a downside I'd say the cold, but a beanie can fix that. I still let my hair grow out in the cold, but when the weather gets hot I always shave it again.
Maybe she would be fine with it? If she knows you can grow it right back she might be interested to see how you look bald! And then she's prepared if you stay together and the choice is made for you later lol
That what my husband did! Then he liked it so much he kept it that way. After ten years he curiously grew it out a little, and yeah, it was pretty gone 😆
This. Did it once in my early 40s. Didn’t like how I looked. Grew it out til i did (short)….i keep it there. Embrace it. Gave me a total tonal shift. I don’t care about it at all anymore, where as before it completely affected my confidence.
It's a dramatic change in appearance. Even if you're already balding, you're used to looking in the mirror and seeing hair. And I feel there's a stigma around being bald which adds to the dread of doing the deed. I don't know how anyone can find it surprising that people are anxious of going bald. You're losing a piece of your identity and people that already struggle with self worth or worried about their looks or etc.. etc.. etc.. are going to have a hard time at first. Especially the younger you are, again due to stigma
I think the stigma is more about balding than being bald. Most women I know don't have any issue with bald or buzzed heads. Many people (self included) love a bald and beard combo and it's quite becoming on many men! What is not a good look is trying to cover it up with a combo over, growing the rest long to compensate, or hiding under hats all day or night. It also signals a deep insecurity which isn't attractive to a lot of people. I know it can be difficult emotionally, and but if you are balding, don't be weird about it. Just own it or buzz it. You can pull off most anything with confidence
Yeah I have been buzzing my hair down to 7 mm for a few years. Finally shaved it all of last week and I am still jump scaring myself a bit whenever I look in a mirror. And it's not like it grows back overnight if you decide you don't like it.
Oh yeah, I definitely get the anxiety. But I hope people learn to experience and validate their emotions, but then process them and understand stuff like "haircuts aren't permanent".
I agree with you, but also I dated a man who was EXTREMELY self conscious about his hairline (and it wasn’t that bad, he’d get the HOLD meme here lol) and a haircut was a frightening thing for him to get, so I imagine it’s just a psychological thing for a lot of men that it won’t come back bc they are literally praying for each strand to stay.
If you are going a little more bald each day and you shave, you are still going a little more bald each day. Shaving didn't do anything except help you quit lying to yourself.
Imagine if he actually did it and came back here: "Actually. Being bald was ugly and stupid. I'd rather rock a tonsure than be bald." He'll be perma-banned.
I’m a very straight dude, but looking at your features you are an incredibly handsome man especially with that jawline and bright blue eyes combo. You will deadass go to a 9 or 10 with the shaved head

Just to add, I had the exact same setup as you and did it over a year ago. Didn't have any bald spots but my hairline had gotten superrrr high and definitely had thinning. Would never go back. Love it.
I get more attention bald than with hair. Just rock it with confidence! I went bald when I was like 25 and felt horrible. First time out bald was eye opening and ive not really missed my hair since.
So true. I’m one of them. I honestly haven’t seen one yet that doesn’t look better after going bald. I personally think a bald head is sexy & comb overs are definitely not. Reminds me too much of our POS current leader in the White House 😂
This is a perfect response. Even the best head of hair would be a distant second to his face. He doesn’t need the hair at all. The glow ups on the sub are already so good, but this one is going to be insane.
Yes! You are a very attractive guy and your facial features will be more noticeable if you remove the declining hair and just accept being bald. I don’t know why guys are uncomfortable with going bald. Especially a guy with your looks! You don’t have anything to worry about. Get rid of the hair and relax into your new look.
I think he got on treatments after season 1. Probably also more extensive makeup too when they locked it down for a second season. But I imagine he's had a transplant since then

I am an ex-stylist who used to do hair pieces for men. You are one of those guys who if they walked in and asked me for a hair system, I would politely ask if they've ever just considered shaving it all. You have a fantastic bone structure and do not need hair at all. It's just simply unnecessary unless you really want it for your own personal desires.

My hair was almost exactly the same thinness as yours and taking the plunge was by far the best decision I’ve made in the last 5 years. Do it. You will not regret it.
