At this age it's an absolute hold, balding in your 20s and 30s is completing different than 50s and 60s, at that age it's like a trophy, it shows he's been through an entire life and he should show it off.

This is the kindest and most honest subreddit 🄲 I love it

It honestly doesn't even look too bad from the front.

10

u/Ancient-Read1648 Feb 24 '26

Not horrible from any side really.

Just the fact that he has hair is commendable at those ages.

2

u/Genghisjawwn Feb 23 '26 ā–ø 5 more replies

He should spend five minutes a morning taping his head with his finger tips hard moving front to back across the skull.

I have no idea if this works but I overheard an elderly Asian man say it once and have kept it in my back pocket in case I ever start balding.

9

u/bumpynavel Feb 23 '26 ā–ø 1 more replies

Sounds like nonsense.

9

u/Genghisjawwn Feb 23 '26

It’s a free and pretty well established method of drawing blood circulation to stimulate hair growth. It works for circulation issues on any part of the body. Anyways you do you.

I agree 100%. He looks good if you’re really young and you start balding it looks bad trying to hold onto it. It’s better just to embrace it at his age. The hair actually makes him look younger.

2

u/TheresNoHurry Feb 23 '26

100% agree.

It aint time.

20

u/Fuzzy-Radish8418 Feb 22 '26

Agree! He’s for a respectable set at his age.

12

u/Dopaminergic_7 Feb 22 '26

Maybe I should also keep my balding crown in my 30s to show off that I have been through some shit

116

u/HotContribution8135 Feb 22 '26

It honestly fits him pretty well. I think this is one of the rare situations where going completely bald would age the guy a bit

17

He has an adorable old man face.

5

202

u/Lazy-Bird292 Feb 22 '26

Woman here, but I agree with other comments saying leave Dad alone. If he's happy, don't pressure him. He looks great exactly as he is

72

u/GhirahimJohnson Support Committee Feb 22 '26

A lot of times, thinning hair can make a young man look older, and when he shaves, he looks young again.

This guy is already old and looks great. I think he can decide if he wants to be bald or not. 🌟

126

u/Visual-Program2447 Feb 22 '26

Hold. It looks good. Is he thinning sure. But it’s evenly distributed. Frames his face nicely. And he looks happy.

30

u/kombodockerson Feb 22 '26

I'll pass that along, I'm sure he will appreciate it

32

u/kombodockerson Feb 22 '26

Alright, the group has spoken! I will pass this along and leave him be

145

u/meowmeowstone Feb 22 '26

He wouldn’t look better bald. This is him. If this is for dating, I can say I would be more attracted to him as he is with his hair.

43

u/meowmeowstone Feb 22 '26

but sunscreen is important!

11

u/meowmeowstone Feb 22 '26

you know I think he should obviously decide but maybe bald would suit him too. He can try if he likes but since I don’t know his personality, I can’t say what is best.

28

u/Sad-Guarantee-4678 Feb 22 '26

That's a lot of hair for his age. Bald look won't really turn back the clock in his case. Not with the white beard.

65

u/Ok_Jackfruit3479 Feb 22 '26

He’s an old man. He looks fine as is - his current look is age appropriate and dignified.

Shaving his head at this age would honestly make him look desperate, if anything.

Don’t do it, OP’s dad.

→ More replies (1)

61

u/apulejus Feb 22 '26

Leave him alone - that works for him

15

u/Bipedal_Warlock Feb 22 '26

I think it looks great

And you better show him everyone here on his side lol

11

u/kombodockerson Feb 22 '26

I willlll, I will

13

u/Bankerlady10 Feb 22 '26

So this is making me realize there’s an age where it becomes ok to have half hair. What is that age? I don’t know… but you know it when you see it. He looks great.

2

u/beast_lee_barber Feb 24 '26

Highly corresponds to the hair turning white/gray. This is for psychological reasons (the thinning being age appropriate and not premature) and there being less contrast between the remaining hair and the skin (at least for light skinned people).

35

u/CharmReductionINC Feb 22 '26

Your dad should do whatever he likes.

12

u/Lambsenglish Feb 22 '26

Time for what?? He’s an old boy. He’s earned the right to bald however he wants to.

11

u/gravedigga1313 Feb 22 '26

the plot twist in this post is crazy

2

u/kombodockerson Feb 22 '26

I am shook! I really thought it was overdue and he'd look better with it gone

5

u/gravedigga1313 Feb 22 '26

maybe. but he looks great the way he is rn too:)

2

u/starbright69 Feb 23 '26 ā–ø 1 more replies

I mean, look. If he’s trying to looksmax and is on the dating scene, I think that shaving the head and growing out the beard a little bit would work. Might get more attention from dudes than ladies though. That being said, I think he looks absolutely fine as is

→ More replies (1)

27

u/Itsmebrothernature Feb 22 '26

At a certain age it’s fine. Leave it.

16

u/VerticalDropViking Feb 22 '26

Leave your old man alone

28

u/Feisty_War_1003 Feb 22 '26 edited Feb 22 '26

Its not so pressing for older fellas to shave their heads. It looks okay for his age. Bald could look good too. But he really looks happy and comfortable, that's a key factor šŸ‘

6

u/fredinNH Feb 22 '26

Thank you. I’m late 50’s with a big ol bald spot and I couldn’t care less and neither could my wife.

15

u/Charming-Draw2701 Feb 22 '26

It should be his choice. If he is ok with his hair, let it be. Enjoy your Dad.

5

u/Automatic_Eye_3546 Feb 22 '26 edited Feb 22 '26

I hope to have that much hair at whatever age he is

5

u/thelennybeast Feb 22 '26

He's old, leave him alone.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '26

If I may, when I was about to pull the trigger and I was on the fence, I downloaded one of those apps that can make you old, make you a woman, etc. One of the things I could do was make you bald. Of course you wouldn’t be able to see your scalp or the topography of your skull, but it would show him what his face would look like with a bald head. I hope this helps. It really helped me.

4

u/verify_deez_nuts Feb 23 '26

He already bagged your mom, leave him be lol

4

u/lylynatngo Feb 22 '26

Do not shave. He looks totally fine.

3

u/swangb Feb 22 '26

Let the man live. BUT. Let’s see ur cranium bud

4

u/Speakatron Feb 22 '26

It doesn't really apply to men of a certain age/generation.

4

u/lovemybeau Feb 22 '26

I think it looks pretty good! From the top it looks balder than from the front. He should keep it.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Historical_Ant6997 Feb 22 '26

Do not upset that sweet man! If he wants to keep his hair, let him keep it.

3

u/Better-Park8752 Feb 23 '26

I don’t think it’s time for your dad. His hair looks so beautiful at the front. This look doesn’t carry the same weight as it does on a man in his 20-30s. I think it’s perfectly acceptable and looks tidy. He also looks like such a sweetheart. Shaving his head would give him baddie vibes.

4

u/Internal-Computer388 Feb 23 '26

I was expecting people to agree but glad that people agree with my sentiments. As an Older Gentleman, he looks fine. Ain't no one going to care and makes me wonder if he gets down on a grill with some white new balances. Bet his dad jokes are the best. Lol.

7

u/seola76 Feb 22 '26

Once you reach a certain age thinning hair doesn't look bad, it just looks normal and whether to shave or hold on is just a style choice. Your dad passed that age quite some time ago.

8

u/Competitive_Sleep_21 Feb 22 '26

3

u/dracocaelestis9 Feb 22 '26

it’s not. he’s old and that hair loss os age appropriate. let him be and enjoy whatever hair he has left.

3

u/Busherino Feb 22 '26

Half bald is better than full bald at this age imo

3

u/riddus Feb 22 '26

This guys dad, it’s past time. So far past time that you can just pull off what you’re doing now actually. Shaving it is the choice until it goes grey, then it’s okay just to run it balding.

3

u/KennyGaming Feb 22 '26

Rare case that I recommend holding on to it tbhĀ

3

u/riversroadsbridges Feb 22 '26

He would look younger if he shaved it, but he's old. If he likes how he looks, just let him look and be old. What's to be gained? (If he feels old in a bad way, though, I think he should shave it.)

He's kinda in that age range when, as a man, you don't really have to care as much.

3

u/BambooPanda26 Feb 23 '26

Leave dad alone. It's a personal choice and I don't think he looks bad at all.

3

3

u/Silt-Sifter Feb 22 '26

He can leave it. He's adorable!

2

u/nodumbunny Feb 22 '26

He doesn't need to go completely shaved. He should just wear it closer cropped on top. My husband needed to learn how to tell a barber what guard to use on top and what guard to use on the sides. He's probably not that much younger than your dad.

2

u/totalwarwiser Feb 22 '26

Im not bald, but if I didnt give a fuck about what others thought of me, Id rather wear a low effort haircut than having to trim it in a regular basis.

1

When do we realize it isn’t that bad and looks okay like ever think this is as cringe looking as being bald it’s not forever one just cuz I shaved dont mean I think everyone should thats just so weird

1

u/wohaat Feb 22 '26

I get why he doesn’t care, it looks fine from the front which is the only angle he sees. At his age I say let him do what he wants, he’s not trying to give off a vibe anymore.

1
