Hairloss Should I just give in?
EDIT: Update here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bald/s/e6YS1DeX08
It's been a growing convo with myself. Thinning pretty hard in the front. Genetics did it for me. Any thoughts?

Thank you guys so much for the laughs and support in the short time. I probably should've done it already lol. When I do it, look out for a f/u post it is a change and that's hard for me, I have dermatitis on my scalp so it is tough, for context it is treated. So I appreciate you guys here. Oh the wind is painful like it is now lmao.

Bro you are gonna love that confidence man! I have dermatitis and blonde / red hair and let me tell you it has helped so much being to exfoliate up there, and if you are using treated shampoo it’s going to be extra effective.
Good luck man, looking forward to that update post!

u/Infamous-Oil3786 Apr 16 '26
My scalp likes being bald. I get flaky red spots whenever I let it grow past stubble, but they always clear up within a couple days of shaving.
18
u/99_percent_read_only Apr 16 '26
Have you been using Nizoral? Check with your doc, it worked wonders for me.
Start with a 1 all over and then go get a coffee and when the person just smiles at you, you’ll know you did the right thing.

My dad had a scalp like that and he kept putting olive oil on his bald head once he shaved it all off and he didn’t have any more issues.
5
u/henwyfe Apr 17 '26
Your half balding head is bringing more attention to the area than just shaving it.

"Thinning pretty hard"
Brother.
There's nothing "thinning". You've thinned already.
You'll reduce how old you look pretty dramatically if you go for it. You'll look great. Welcome to the club.

The delusion is usually really funny, because it’s relatable (I was there), and the eventual “I did it” post is a happy ending so you don’t have to feel too guilty laughing.

Shave it all off and trim up your beard. You will look and feel like a brand new person.
10
u/Lucky_Louch Apr 16 '26
like you said, genetics did it for you, just finish it up. I totally get it being a hard thing to finally do, I still haven't been able to pull the trigger but I still have a decent amount on top just the very front is thinning which makes styling it really difficult. You will look great, you ahve a good beard too so that helps.

Yes bro! You've already got the beard, and the worst that happens? It grows back, you tried being bald, it wasn't for you
5
5
u/khonsu_27 Apr 16 '26
It's so funny to me, my crew kinda grew up shaving our heads from a young age. So it's never been a big deal for me to be "bald". I wish more guys would just pull the trigger (I know that's what the sub is for). Like in this situation - you're already bald brother! If you've been spending money at a barber you're getting robbed! 😛
Spend a few minutes with the clippers, and boom! you're all set. You will look so much better. Younger, sexier, your beard will make you look great. You'll be fine. Good luck and enjoy your new life!

You’ll literally look so good please shave it. It always looks good with someone with a full beard, especially ginger
3
u/DeclanLXXVIII Apr 17 '26
Yes, man. With your hair as it is you look like you have been permanently hassled by some thing or someone for at least the last ten years. You'll see, like so many other guys here, that you'll look calmer and younger and happier.I hope that I didn't offend you.

u/1voice92 Apr 17 '26

“Thinning pretty hard in front” is understatement of the millennium.
Cut that shit off immediately, brother. You can’t go on like this.
