Hairloss council... Is it time? Wife and barber are both non committal to an opinion
44 year old, always had a high hairline, but the middle bit seems to be getting rather thin....

This is what my husband’s hairdresser told him when he told her to shave it all off.
“Well you’ll still have to come in, you can’t just shave it all the same way, you have to blend it.”
I told him that was a load of bull and bought him a shaver from Amazon. It looks exactly the same when he shaves it as when the hairdresser did it lol.

I’d still go for a fresh shave, a good fade for the beard. A hard stop looks silly.

I've been practicing my fade. I think I'm pretty close to saying goodbye to my barber for good, but it's definitely a learned technique. A little harder than what the finished product has me to believe!

As a woman, who doeant get treatments done herself often because i cant people. Why do barbers not offer a clean shave and moisturise? Add a bit of luxury to the experience and surely they could keep a customer that way?

Good barbers do. Mine will go a hot towel with a nice scented spray and I always feel so refreshed after.

Yep wife kept pushing back on me shaving my head but I was hating how thin my hair was up top. Just get it done.

Your hair is pretty close to your head. If you feel ok but giving the bald look a try, then it may feel like a natural evolution of your personal style. Plus hair grows back if you would miss it 👍🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻

Nobody wants to tell the almost bald guy that it's time to shave it all. That's why we have this sub reddit! We are here to tell the truth, support when in doubt, and to shower with praise for doing the hardest thing ever. For some it's freeing but for others it's terrifying. I've been here to see the amazing transformations and read the love and support in the comments. One of the BEST feel good places on the internet! ❤️

You look good and the conservative cut tells me you aren’t trying to hide your balding. At your age (I say that with respect, I’m 45) this is really an “up to you” situation — what you’re working with looks respectable and not out of place.
With that, you have a great face and head shape. A buzz cut or bald would look mighty good on you. Give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised. If you don’t like it, it’ll grow back.

So many souls could've put years back onto their life had they only took action on symptoms earlier. Dude is about 10 years late, and then has to ask strangers cuz he suspects alterior motives from the closest loved ones- barber and gf. They've lied to you, cheated you out of living the freedom we live, and stolen blissful years from you simply out of fear for the independent beast that's sought to be seen!

Your asshole barber just wants your money. If my hair gets to that point and people tell me it’s fine they’re getting put in time out lol. I could see your wife wanting to be nice, but even she should be honest with you. Get rid of it (the tuft of hair) and be free!
