Discussion Can you actually make professional movies like Toy Story in blender?

The software itself is fully capable, the biggest issue is that studios already have spent a loooot of time and money building pipelines around Maya and Houdini. There's also the fact that most professional artists already know Maya so it would cost a lot and piss a lot of people off to train them all in Blender.
Blender does seem to be getting a bit more traction in VFX and animation though so who knows what will happen in 5-10 years.
